Shipbuilding: Cadmatic and CONTACT Software Partner

Engineering and industrial software providers Cadmatic and CONTACT Software have partnered to bring the first shipbuilding-specific product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions to shipyards.Cadmatic, a ship design and information management solution provider for the marine industry, said it will utilize the CONTACT Elements platform and its apps to deliver a broader scope of shipbuilding-specific digitalization solutions.Cadmatic’s scope will cover the entire lifecycle of shipbuilding projects from design and engineering to prefabrication and production and even to maintenance and operation.

Cadmatic, Floorganise Partner on Shipyard Software

CADMATIC Ltd and Floorganise BV have entered into a strategic partnership to expand their product porfolios and enhance production planning and control at shipyards. The partnership includes joint software products as well as technical and commercial cooperation under the Cadmatic Floorganise brand name. Building on previous cooperation on integration projects with customers in the superyacht and workboat industries, the partnership facilitates joint development of a shipbuilding planning and control platform that integrates engineering data with planning and control functions.

CADMATIC reports strong growth and turnover figures for 2018: 29% growth resulting in record turnover of over $22.7m. During the same period, the company’s number of staff has increased to more than 140.With strong results also reported in 2017, the last two years have seen rapid growth at CADMATIC. Over the two-year period, its turnover has increased 45%, its number of personnel by 25% and the number of user organizations by 20%.In December 2018, the company headquarters in Turku, Finland moved to new premises across the Aurariver on Linnankatu 52.

TNKC Fleet Upgraded with BASS Software

Maritime software company BASS starts the fourth quarter by clinching a fleet-wide system upgrade for the subsidiary of the K-Line group Taiyo Nippon Kisen Co., Ltd (TNKC). With this upgrade, 107 TNKC vessels will operate on the BASSnet 2.8 Fleet Management System to enhance its efficiency gains. The ship management company has been operating on BASSnet 2.0 since 2001. TNKC has been enjoying the benefits of optimizing its shipping operations with BASSnet Fleet Management Systems for a full 12 years.

GDF SUEZ E&P UK, a growing competitor in the United Kingdom North Sea oil and gas production sector, has recently adopted the full Intergraph® SmartPlant® Enterprise engineering suite, including SmartMarine® 3D. The information management, plant operations, electrical, instrumentation, and 3D design solutions will be used in operations on the Cygnus gas field, a major GDF SUEZ E&P development project, which sanction is targeted mid-2012.
