Beam Receives $1m Order from MCN

Beam Communications Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of World Reach Limited, has entered into an agreement with Beijing Marine Communications & Navigation Company (MCN) for the supply of an initial $1M of Beam Inmarsat marine satellite terminals. This initial order follows the trial and now acceptance of the Beam terminals after MCN committed in July 2012 to undertake a trial deploying 200 Beam Oceana 400 and Oceana 800 marine communications terminals on fishing vessels in China, using the Inmarsat FleetPhone Service.

Beam Communications Get Order for Chinese Fishing Boat SatCom Trials

Beam Communications receives an initial order for USD 170,000 from a China based satellite communications company. This initial order follows a commitment by the Chinese entity to undertake a short trial deploying 200 Beam Oceana 400 and Oceana 800 marine communications terminals on fishing vessels in China, using the Inmarsat FleetPhone Service. Beam Announces Inmarsat-Based Piracy Solution

Beam Communications Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of World Reach Limited (ASX: WRR), announces a new satellite piracy solution for secure communication on board a vessel. The new system operates with the Inmarsat satellite network. Beam’s new Oceana 800 Covert Piracy Solution provides a dedicated system for a safe room or citadel on board a vessel. The system ensures that, in the event of a piracy attack, essential communications on board the vessel can be maintained and used for alerting authorities.

Marlink Boosts FleetPhone Crew Calling

Marlink, the largest provider of maritime satellite communications, has announced it will provide a major benefit to customers taking its Inmarsat FleetPhone service, Inmarsat’s latest satellite voice, circuit switched data and SMS messaging system. Marlink will provide a terminal at no cost with each one year subscription to the Universal Card, Vizada’s prepaid solution for private calls and crew data. The system will also have a free crew handset and call blocker which restricts crew to the prepaid traffic.

Vizada Updates FleetPhone Service Offerings

Satellite-based mobility company Vizada will provide the new Inmarsat FleetPhone maritime handset with email and data transfer capabilities to its extensive network of service provider partners. Vizada will add several Vizada SolutionsTM - including SkyFile® Mail, Universal CardTM and Satellite Direct® - to the existing package. Vizada’s FleetPhone is also packaged with a crew calling promotion. Inmarsat’s new entry-level voice service will feature voice calls and voicemail in addition to text and email messaging capabilities. A supplemental voice line enables the captain to benefit from private communications while the crew maintains separate lines for personal or professional calling. The PBX integration allows for simple calling between the different phones located on the ship.
