New Dog Kennels for Stena Line Ferries

Merseyside engineering firm IPS Marine Fabrications is helping ferry operator Stena Line expand its accommodation for man’s best friend after securing a deal to build a series of bespoke dog kennels. IPS Completes Two Ferry Deals for Stena Line

Birkenhead based IPS Marine Fabrications is continuing to ramp up growth in the passenger ferry market after completing work on two Stena Line vessels. The firm, run by maritime engineering specialists Paul Smith and Peter Hillan, has delivered a package of insulation and fabrication work for the Stena Ro-Pax Superfast ferries VII and VIII. All repairs were completed on the move while the vessels continued service between Belfast and Cairnryan in Ireland, ensuring no operational downtime.

Gulf Island Wins Arena GoM Rig Construction Contract

Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc. says that, through its subsidiary Gulf Island L.L.C., it has received an award letter from Arena Offshore, LP for the fabrication of two jacket/piles and topsides for Arena’s projects located in the Gulf of Mexico. Delivery for these units is set for late second quarter 2015. Revenue backlog and man-hours associated with this project will be reported in connection with the Company’s announcement of financial results for the quarter ending September 30, 2014. Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc., based in Houston, Texas, is a leading fabricator of offshore drilling and production platforms, hull and/or deck sections of floating production platforms and other specialized structures used in the development and production of offshore oil and gas reserves.

Gulf Island Fab Reports Q1 2014 Revenue Increase

Houston headquartered Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc. reported net income of $3.5 million ($0.24 earnings per share) on revenue of $134.7 million for its first quarter ended March 31, 2014, compared to net income of $2.8 million ($0.19 earnings per share) on revenue of $150.4 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. The company had a revenue backlog of $271.4 million and a labor backlog of approximately 2.5 million man-hours at March 31, 2014, including commitments received through April 14, 2014, compared to a revenue backlog of $358.7 million and a labor backlog of 3.3 million man-hours reported as of December 31, 2013. AMPOL Wins Coast Guard Contract

NEW IBERIA, La. (March 14, 2011) – The Oil Stop Division of the American Pollution Control Corp. (AMPOL), the industry leader in oil spill response and total environmental solutions, has been granted a Phase 2 contract for development and testing of its OSBORS (Oil Stop Bottom Oil Recovery System) submerged oil recovery system by the United States Coast Guard Research and Development Branch. “Working with the United States Coast Guard Research and Development Branch is a great honor,” said CEO Kirk Headley.
