Kongsberg to Design and Equip Suez Canal's New Salvage Tugs

Kongsberg Maritime announced it has won a contract to provide the design and equipment for two powerful salvage tugs being built by Alexandria Shipyard as main contractor on behalf of the Suez Canal Authority. The tugs will be based on Kongsberg Maritime’s UT 722 CDT Design.The UT 722 tugboat design has a length of 71.6 meters, bollard pull of approximately 200 tonnes, and it can operate independently for up to 35 days.Egypt’s Alexandria Shipyard successfully bid on this contract with the Suez Canal Authority in cooperation with Kongsberg Maritime…

GD Wins $27m Navy Contract

General Dynamics Information Technology has won three task orders worth a total of $26.7m from the Naval Sea Systems Command. The company will provide IT engineering and professional services for the US Navy's Smart Carrier program at its , Carderock Division in . It will support modernization operations including testing and installation of new machinery control monitoring systems, distributed data and control networks, and navigation and ship control systems. It will also provide engineering, system analysis, and program support for navigation and integrated bridge control systems that include antenna, sail, radar, microwave, and electrical systems.

NAVSEA Awards General Dynamics $27m IT Services Contracts

General Dynamics Information Technology, has been awarded three Seaport-e task orders by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) , Carderock Division (NSWCCD), in. The contracts have a total potential value of $26.7m if all options are exercised. Under the contracts, General Dynamics will provide information technology (IT) engineering and professional services for the Smart Carrier program and additional NSWCCD initiatives.
