The longest Offshore Patrol Vessel ever built by Vittoria Shipyard was delivered this morning to the Maltese government by Luigi Duò, president of Vittoria Shipyard, during a ceremony that took place in the facilities of the Venetian company. Representing Malta was brigadier Jeffrey Curmi, commander of the armed forces. The OPV P71 is a 75-m-long vessel designed and constructed by the Venetian shipyard that specializes in building ships up to 100 meters in overall length for military, paramilitary, commercial, transportation and work-related use.

Kongsberg has signed an agreement with the shipbuilding firm T.Mariotti to provide its K-Bridge Integrated Bridge System (IBS) with K-Pos Dynamic Positioning (DP) functionality for two ultra-luxury, purpose-built expedition cruise newbuilds to Carnival Corporation. Canada’s first Resolve-Class Naval Support Ship, Asterix, has been formally accepted by the Department of National Defense and has now entered full operational service with the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) following a period of at-sea trials and testing, announced Davie Shipbuilding and Federal Fleet Services. Asterix performed daily replenishment-at-sea (RAS) exercises with the RCN and conducted extensive RCAF CH-148 Cyclone helicopter operations to prove and demonstrate the capabilities of the Resolve-Class Naval Support Ship.

Indian Navy commissioned LCU L52 - a landing craft - which will be deployed for a variety of activities including transporting battle tanks and other heavy weapons systems. German navigation system manufacturer Raytheon Anschütz has secured a contract for the delivery of the Synapsis Integrated Navigation System (INS) to a Crew Change Vessel (CCV). The vessel is being built for the Danish shipping company Esvagt by Astilleros Zamakona Shipyard in Spain. The vessel, used for crew changes at sea, is planned to be delivered in the second quarter of 2017. Havyard Ship Design & Solutions AS, in accordance to the shipowner, is responsible for ship design and delivery of system packages.

Radio Holland, part of the newly formed company RH Marine Group, has been awarded a Remote Monitoring Agreement from The China Navigation Company (CNCo).
