Bourbon to Support Total in Namibia

Peterson to Develop New Port Cameron

International energy logistics provider Peterson is to partner with Port Cameron in Louisiana to develop a deepwater staging port and supply base facility serving the Gulf of Mexico. Peterson has signed a teaming partnership agreement with Port Cameron for the development of a 500-acre deep water staging port. Upon completion, Port Cameron in Louisiana will be one of the largest private energy services facilities on the Gulf Coast. The agreement will see Peterson serve as port manager with the option to lease up to 1.2 million square feet of space in Port Cameron Logistics Center. The proposed development will feature more than 21,000 linear feet of bulkhead lots on dredged slips of 500-feet and 700-feet wide and dredged depths of 33 feet.

Grupo TMM Orders Damen ASD Tug 3212

Leading Mexican maritime operator, Grupo TMM, has signed a Protocol of Delivery and Acceptance with Damen Shipyards Group for a 70 tonne bollard pull ASD Tug 3212 named TMM COLIMA. The tug will operate in the Mexican port of Manzanillo on the Pacific Coast. Ongoing port modifications and changes in port authority requirements were the driving force behind the deal. Founded in 1958, Grupo TMM has become one of the largest integrated logistics and transportation companies in Mexico. The group provides a dynamic combination of specialized maritime services, port and terminal management and integrated logistics services to an extensive Mexican and international client base.

Seaways Shipping Set to Go Public

Logistics service and solutions provider Seaways Shipping & Logistics Ltd has filed draft papers with the capital markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for its initial public offering (IPO). The IPO comprises fresh issue of shares worth  about $12 million through a fresh issue of sale and an offer-for sale of up to 6,445,224 equity scrips by the existing shareholders, including IDFC Private Equity, according to the Draft Red Herring Prospectus filed with Sebi. With this, Seaways Shipping has become the fifth company to file papers with SEBI this year for an IPO. The proceed of the fresh issue would be utilised for capital expenditure, repayment of loans and for other general corporate purposes.

Bahri, SEC Ink 5-year Transportation Deal

The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) and Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a period of five years, appointing Bahri to transport all the equipment, tools, spare parts and products imported from outside by SEC. The MoU, signed by Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, CEO of (Bahri) and Engr. Ziad Al-Shiha, CEO of (SEC), aims to support strategic resettlement of projects for electrical industries and exchange of experiences between the two companies to provide appropriate work environment.

Mozambique: $30b Invested for 2018 LNG Export

More than $30 billion will be invested initially in Mozambique's natural gas sector to build capacity to produce 20 million tonnes per year of liquefied natural gas (LNG), with the first exports due to start in 2018, the national oil company said. The investments will be made to develop the northern ports of Pemba and Palma, where a giant logistics base and LNG production plants are planned that will use gas produced from offshore fields in the Rovuma Basin being developed by U.S. oil major Anadarko Petroleum Corp and Italy's Eni. Mozambique, which still bears the scars of a 1975-1992 civil war, is hoping revenues from its large gas deposits and its fledgling coal mining industry will help it emerge from years of poverty and dependence on foreign donors.

GAC North America Passes the Helm to Schensema

GAC says it  has moved Claus Schensema to Houston, Texas, where he will take up the post of Managing Director of GAC North America Logistics. Schensema brings 25 years’ experience in shipping and logistics to his new role as GAC North America Logistics’ Managing Director, including expertise in international freight forwarding, contract logistics management, automotive logistics, oil & gas support and ship agency management. Prior to his latest appointment, he served as Managing Director of GAC China for 12 years, based in Shanghai. GAC China now has six offices and almost 200 employees providing a wide range of integrated logistics services throughout the country.

AMSEC Employee Honored for Safety Idea

Huntington Ingalls Industries' AMSEC subsidiary employee, Casey Tarnowski, wins annual safety suggestion award. The annual Safety Suggestion Award contest is hosted by the Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA). Casey Tarnowski was honored for his stanchion stabilizer, which prevents stanchions from rolling off flight decks and preventing them from being dropped through flight deck stanchion holes on aircraft carriers. He received the award and a $500 cash prize from Brian Applewhite, VSRA's safety committee chair, at the VSRA's recent general membership meeting.

HII Subsidiary AMSEC to Move HQ

Huntington Ingalls Industries has announced that its AMSEC LLC subsidiary has picked an existing building in Virginia Beach for its new headquarters. AMSEC had been engaged in a two-year search to identify a new location in the Hampton Roads area for its headquarters. AMSEC signed a 10-year lease agreement with the Olympia Development Corp. for the property located at 5701 Cleveland St. AMSEC will occupy approximately half of the six-story, 126,000 square foot building adjacent to Interstate 264.

Greencarrier Freight to Cooperate With Ekol Logistics

Greencarrier Freight Services has signed a cooperation agreement with Turkey’s leading logistics company, Ekol Logistics. The agreement covers Sweden, the Baltic states and Turkey, and will provide a range of services for Greencarrier customers having a need for transportation services between these two regions. Keppel Details FY 2011 Results

The Directors of Keppel Corporation Limited advise the following unaudited results of the Group for the full year ended 31 December 2011. The FY 2011 Report Card and the Address by Mr Choo Chiau Beng, Chief Executive Officer, are below. I am pleased to announce that 2011 was yet another record year for Keppel Corporation. Our net profit grew by 14% to a new high of nearly $1.5 billion. This is the fifth year running that our net profit has surpassed the $1 billion mark. Also for the fifth consecutive year, our Return on Equity has remained above 20%. Economic Value Added has also increased to $1,024 million for the year. With these strong results, the Board of Directors will be recommending a total distribution to shareholders of 43 cents per share for the whole year.

Horizon Lines Announces Organization Changes

NOL Appoints Held CEO

The Chairman of Neptune Orient Lines Limited (NOL), Cheng Wai Keung, announced the appointment of Dr. 2006. Dr. Held will also be appointed a member of the NOL Board of Directors. Dr Held is a German national, whose most recent appointment was as Chairman and CEO of European-headquartered Schenker AG, one of the world’s leading providers of integrated logistics services. He served in this role for three years before stepping down in January 2006 following Schenker’s value-creating acquisition of the North America-based freight forwarder Bax Global. “The NOL Board considers Thomas Held to be one of the world’s outstanding transportation industry leaders and we are delighted to have an executive of his stature joining our company as CEO,” Cheng said.
