Tundra MDS Completes Stage 1 of ISO 14001:2004
Tundra Maritime Defense Services (MDS), the maritime division of Tundra Group, announced that it has completed Stage 1 of the ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certification process conducted by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). Tundra MDS’s Integrated Management System (IMS) is already certified to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 28000:2007 and ISO/PAS 28007:2012. Recognized worldwide, ISO 14001 confirms an organization is effectively managing and mitigating its impact on the environment. Tundra’s environmental management system (EMS) is a continuous cycle of planning, implementation, review, and improvement of actions carried out to achieve stated business and environmental goals. Solace Called Upon to Address Industry Standards
Solace Global Maritime, a private maritime security company, has been seconded as an industry expert from SME32 Ships and Maritime U.K. Committee to advise the QS1 Quality Committee on proposed changes to the international management standard, BS EN ISO9001. ABS Grants Energy Management Certifications
ABS announced the certification of several maritime industry leaders for adopting energy management systems. Gaslog LNG Services Ltd., Consolidated Marine Management and Goodwood Ship Management Pte Ltd. are among the first organizations to certify their energy management systems using the ABS Guide for Marine Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental and Energy (HSQEEn) Management. These forward-leaning companies are exceeding maritime industry requirements for energy efficiency and establishing systems that will allow them to manage operations that align with increased environmental awareness. This certification recognizes the addition of energy efficiency to these organization’s existing marine management systems.
Sandigan Selects Stratos for Deployment of FleetBroadband
Sandigan reports improved applications performance and crew productivity. Stratos Global, the leading global provider of advanced mobile and fixed-site remote communications solutions, today announced it has been selected by Sandigan Ship Services, Inc. to deploy the Inmarsat FleetBroadband satellite communications service on Sandigan’s fleet of commercial vessels.
