AG&P, ADNOC L&S to Convert LNG Carrier into FSU and Deploy it in India

Atlantic Gulf & Pacific International Holdings (AG&P) have signed a charter agreement to use ADNOC L&S 's LNG Carrier Gasha, as a Floating Storage Unit (FSU).The LNG carrier will be used at AG&P's LNG import terminal in India, which will be commissioned in the second half of 2024. The charter deal is valid for 11 years with the option of a four-year extension. The two firms which have previously entered two similar agreements for FSUs in India and the Philippines. The TracNet H30, H60, and H90 terminals feature satellite, cellular, and Wi-Fi technology under one dome, with intelligent, automatic switching based on availability, cost, and quality of data connection to continually deliver the best performance. The KVH ONE network includes 276 million sq. km (106+ million sq. miles) of satellite coverage using KVH’s global, layered HTS network, powered by Intelsat.

Kalmar Key's Open Interfaces for Terminal Automation

Kalmar has announced Kalmar Key, the terminal industry's first automation platform with open interfaces. Kalmar Key provides a common system architecture for building an end-to-end, customised automation platform using Kalmar Terminal Logistics System (TLS) as a basis. The product opens the application-independent core software components of the Kalmar terminal automation system for use by developers, enabling terminal operators to extend their automation systems with any brand of equipment. By providing open application interfaces to the core functionality of the automation system, Kalmar aims to facilitate the adoption of container terminal automation and support the development of the entire industry.

GAC, Forth Join Forces to offer Mooring, Terminal Solutions

GAC UK and Forth Logistics Marine Services (FLMS) have formed a partnership to provide mooring and related terminal services around the UK. Formed on the back of a long term contract in the River Forth with an oil major to be announced later in the year, the pairing combines FLMS’s years of marine experience with GAC’s expertise and reputation for integrity as the leading ship agent in the UK and in the River Forth. According to GAC UK MD Herman Jorgensen, the winning combination will provide “safe, strong operations with unrivalled 24/7 customer focus”. The fleet of six line handling vessels includes two new Alnmaritec Wave Handler vessels currently being built at the company’s Port of Blyth yard. Three more vessels are en route from Qatar a sixth is coming from Australia this autumn.

New Baton Rouge Deepwater Dock: Genesis to Invest US$150-Million

Genesis Energy, L.P. announce plans to invest approximately US$150-million to construct a new crude oil, intermediates and refined products import / export terminal in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (the Baton Rouge Terminal). The Baton Rouge Terminal will be located on approximately 90 acres of land near the Port of Greater Baton Rouge (the Port) and will be connected to the Port’s existing deepwater docks on the Mississippi River. The docks are capable of berthing vessels ranging from barges to Aframax class vessels.

Port of LA's TracPac RMG Cranes to be Integrated by Kalmar

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a contract for the integration of the controls for the new rail mounted gantry (RMG) cranes at the intermodal yard of TraPac Inc's terminal at the Port of Los Angeles. Kalmar explain that the RMGs will be supplied to TraPac by PACECO with the Kalmar Terminal Logistic System (TLS) ensuring they are integrated in the automated operations. TLS is part of the Kalmar SmartPort equipment automation portfolio. The intermodal yard is a substantial part of the terminal, with 30 percent of the TEUs shipped inland by rail.

Thrane & Thrane Launches 128 KBPS on F77

Thrane & Thrane is launched a new and enhanced feature for the maritime Fleet77 products: a new 128 kbps ISDN capability that effectively doubles the data speed on the Fleet77 systems. Thrane & Thrane expects this enhancement – a single, dedicated 128 kbps ISDN channel – to be available on all existing Fleet77 systems during Q1 2005. and Group 3 & 4 fax services. The 128 kbps ISDN combined with the MPDS always on capacity will enable customers with high traffic volumes and those requiring higher data rates to achieve the optimal, cost efficient “office at sea”.
