AVEVA Expands Services for Owner Operators

AVEVA announced that it is opening a new Center of Excellence for Operations Integrity Management Solutions for Owner Operators (OOs) in the oil and gas, process plant and power industries. The new facility, based in Stavanger, offers global OOs and Duty Holder EPCs software solutions to create and maintain their Digital Assets. The Digital Asset approach is helping these customers to manage complex facilities to save on cost while delivering a safer and more efficient operating asset.

ISO Endorsement for XPD8’s Quality Systems

Aberdeen-based XPD8 Solutions has achieved the internationally recognized ISO 9001 accreditation for quality management. XPD8, which specializes in the management of maintenance systems for oil and gas producing assets, undertook the assessment as a way of supporting future business growth and ensuring high standards throughout the business. ISO 9001 was assessed independently by Lloyds Register to criteria set globally by the International Organization for Standardization. This system of evaluation is being increasingly used across the oil and gas industry. XPD8 recently announced plans to increase its workforce with the creation of 18 new positions following the award of contracts worth more than £2million.

The company, which provides lifeboat services for several leading North Sea operators, has been approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency to provide essential Inspection & testing to the Maritime industry. It follows a major audit and inspection of the company's procedures, competence and in-house expertise, as well as the quality of reporting and documentation.

Research identifies ‘Health & Safety Information Gap’ in Oil & Gas industry

AVEVA sponsored RGU report indicates fragmented and inconsistent information systems. AVEVA (LSE:AVV), a leader in engineering design and information management solutions for the plant, power and marine industries, today announces the global launch of ‘The Health & Safety Information Gap’, undertaken by Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University (RGU) at Offshore Europe 2011. Concentrating on information systems within the health & safety environment, the far reaching report documents a number of insightful findings. For example, 40% of respondents don’t know where to search for safety information and are working on a mixture of corporate, local and external information systems.
