Canadian Con-Ro Pair Drydocked in Gibraltar

Gibdock's ro-ro and container ship repair work continues, following the drydocking of two con-ro vessels operated by Canadian shipowner, Oceanex. Oceanex provides intermodal transportation services to the Canadian Atlantic provinces of Labrador and Newfoundland. Oceanex Is Building Innovation

Seated at his desk with a view of St. John’s harbour, Oceanex Executive Chairman Captain Sid Hynes is highlighting the innovation in the Oceanex Connaigra, Oceanex Inc.,’s 210-m custom-designed container/roll on roll off (Con/Ro) ice class 1A ship that is presently coming to life in the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft mbH & Co. (FSG) shipyard in Flensburg, Germany. Following four years of study and research, the design stage was completed. First steel was cut in October 2012, and the keel was laid on February 11,  2013.

SpecTec Announces The New Contract with Oceanex

Fireman's Fund Appoints Marine Loss Control Director

Tim Donney has joined Fireman's Fund McGee Marine Underwriters at the company's New York City headquarters as Marine Loss Control Director. A 25-year veteran of marine loss control, Donney will manage the loss control services provided by this leading marine insurer, which includes the largest internal ocean marine loss control staff in the industry. Donney, who was previously the president of Hull & Cargo Surveyors, Inc., most recently served as the Director of National Operations for the Marine Division of Intermodal Transportation Services, Inc. (ITS).
