InterMoor Inc., an Acteon company, has extended its capabilities and service range by becoming the first U.S.-based company to achieve certification under Det Norske Veritas (DNV) 413: Service Suppliers Engaged in Renewal Survey Examination of Mooring Chain Intended for Mobile Offshore Units. This means that InterMoor Inc. can now inspect, certify and recertify mooring chains and related components such as connecting links and wire rope for mobile offshore units that have or will have DNV classification (DNV-OSS-101 and 102). There is also scope to include water blasting of chain, visual inspections, measurements and mechanical and non-destructive testing. Such certification shows that InterMoor Inc.

InterMoor Inc., an Acteon company, has been awarded a preset mooring project for Noble Energy offshore Equatorial Guinea. InterMoor will be providing the design, engineering, procurement and installation services for preset moorings in the Aseng Field.  Five preset mooring legs will be installed at a water depth of approximately 3,445 ft. The Pride South Pacific and the Atwood Hunter are the rigs Noble Energy will be utilizing for this project, and the Maersk Terrier will be the installation vessel. Personnel will also be provided by InterMoor for the drilling program that will last approximately 14 to 16 months.

InterMoor Inc., an Acteon company, has named Don Hardin Vice President of Projects and Engineering. Based at InterMoor’s Houston office, Hardin will be responsible for management and oversight of InterMoor’s major projects and engineering, worldwide. Hardin has more than 25 years of experience in structural engineering, offshore installation, project management and general marine operations. He has also been involved with research, development and implementation of new mooring technology. Prior to InterMoor, Hardin worked as Project Manager for Technip USA. While there, he was involved with several key projects including Murphy Kikeh, BP Atlantis and BP Holstein
