ClassNK Awards ISO14001 Certification to ONE

The Japanese global transport company Ocean Network Express (ONE) has been awarded the International Organization for Standard ization (ISO) 14001:2015 certification by ClassNK.The international containers shipping company headquartered in Singapore said in a press release that the certificate delivering ceremony held on 5th November 2018 at ONE (Marina One East Tower, Singapore).This internationally-recognised certification demonstrates that ONE’s Environmental Management System has met the global best practices and the company’s commitment to reduce its impact on the environment, it said.ONE’s CEO, Jeremy Nixon, who has also recently signed the Global Maritime Forum’s “Call to Action for Decarbonization” said…

Certification for MOL Environmental Management System

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has announced that on July 20, its core dry-cargo ship management company, MOL Ship Management  received a new certification of its Environmental Management System ISO14001: 2015 and Energy Management System ISO50001from Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) after undergoing stringent transition audit and renewal audit processes. MOLSHIP acquired ISO14001: 2004 and ISO50001: 2011 certifications at the same time from ClassNK in July 2014 . ISO Certification for MOL Ship Management Company

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd., today announced that its group ship management company for dry bulkers, Magsaysay MOL Ship Management, Inc. has acquired certifications from Nihon Kaiji Kyokai, for Energy Management Systems (ISO50001*1) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001*2) on June 18. MMSM’s certifications cover ship management of bulk carriers and other cargo ships, as well as office operations onshore. MOL Ship Management Co., Ltd. acquired the same certificates in July 2014, followed by MOL Ship Management (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. and New Asian Shipping Company Ltd. With MMSM’s acquisition in this time, all 4 MOL Group ship management companies for dry bulkers have earned ISO50001 and ISO14001certification.

MOL Ship Management Earns Energy/Enviromental Certifications

Hybrid car carrier Emerald Ace under way

First company to receive ISO50001 certification from Nihon Kaiji Kyokai. MOL Ship Management Co., Ltd. (MOLSHIP), a core ship management company in the corporate group headed by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), has announced acquisition of certifications from Nihon Kaiji Kyokai (NK; Chairman and President: Noboru Ueda), for Energy Management Systems (ISO50001*1) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001*2). NK Executive Vice President Koichi Fujiwara presented the certificates to MOLSHIP President Furukawa in July 29 ceremony at NK headquarters.

Damen Shiprepair Brest Earns ISO9001:2008 Certificate

Damen Shiprepair Brest (France) received certification from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) for aligning its quality and safety management systems with internationally recognized standards. A certificate of approval for the ISO 9001:2008, management standards was presented by LRQA France at the shipyard premises on 26 November 2013. Brazil's OSX Group Q2 2012 Financial Report

EBITDA of R$36,5 million in 1H12 and R$2,7 billion financing are highlights for the second quarter of 2012. OSX, an EBX Group Company which provides solutions for the offshore oil industry by means of integrated operations in shipbuilding, leasing of exploration and production (E&P) units, and operation and maintenance (O&M), reports first semester 2012 profit for the period is R$ 5,4 million. Currently OSX Shipbuilding is managing an order book of 21 units destined for the production of oil and gas in Brazil: 5 FPSOs and 4WHPs for client OGX, 1 PLSV for client Sapura and 11 medium-range tankers for client Kingfish. During the quarter, OSX maintained its client base expansion and diversification strategy.

New Managing Director for Damen Shipyards Singapore

Maarten Jongen, Managing Director of Damen Shipyards Singapore (DSSi).

Mr Maarten Jongen has officially been appointed Managing Director of Damen Shipyards Singapore (DSSi) from March 2012. In his new role Mr Jongen will focus on marketing, services and further improving efficiency at the yard that has been building (aluminium) Damen vessels since 2000. DSSi has been part of the Damen Shipyards Group since 2000. Mr Jongen originally joined Damen in 2002 straight from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) where he studied Naval Architecture and Marine Technology.

RINA Launches Seven Step Fuel Saving Services

Ship Suppliers Urged to 'Go Green'

The International Shipsuppliers & Services Association (ISSA) is encouraging its members to implement green policies and achieve internationally-recognised environmental standards under its flagship Green ISSA initiative. ISSA, which has almost 2,000 members worldwide, is strongly encouraging its members to achieve the International Organisation for Standardisation’s ISO 140000 certification. Standards for environmental management systems are set out in ISO14001:2004, while ISO14004:2004 gives general guidelines for companies initiating environmental policies. Environmental measures are on the agenda for discussion during the forthcoming ISSA Annual Convention meeting in Cadiz, Spain, from May 25-26.

MOL to Scrap 5 Double Hull Tankers

Shell LNG Fleet Earns 'Green Passport'

Shell International Trading and Shipping Company (Shell) has obtained Green Passports for all 25 of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers in its managed fleet. The Green Passports were awarded by Lloyd’s Register, following the necessary surveys and audits and a review of the relevant documentation. Shell and Lloyd’s Register have led the way in the application and adoption of the Green Passport – Shell’s LNG carrier Granatina was the world’s first vessel to be awarded this recognition. The Green Passport is a document that contains an inventory of all the materials onboard a ship that require careful handling or special awareness. The record accompanies the ship throughout its operational life and is updated as necessary.

V.Ships Moves to LR from DNV

Over the past three months, V.Ships, the world's largest ship management company, has undertaken a comprehensive review and evaluation of the way in which its fleet and offices are audited for compliance with the ISM and ISO standards.
