Oceanic Systems Switch Suits More Engine Manufacturers

Oceanic Systems (UK) Ltd has just increased the menu of engine manufacturers which can be selected to present on the company’s sleek single-screen Multiple Engine Displays, claimed a press release from the company.It said that these provide a selection of up to 16 inboard and 16 outboard engine manufacturers, an increased capacity which now doubles the choice of engines and provides boat builders with much greater flexibility.Oceanic Systems’ 4161 Multiple Engine Display and the 4166 Dual Engine Display are the primary choice for vessels worldwide due to their ease of configurability and super-sharp graphics.Both models use a simple switch setting to select from a menu of leading inboard or outboard engine manufacturers.

New Diesel Fuel Quality Sensor from CMR

According to engine control and instrumentation specialists CMR Group, significant fuel savings can be achieved by diesel engine owners and marine vessel operators using the world’s first commercial high horsepower diesel fuel quality sensor. The new Near Infrared Intelligent Sensor (NIRISTM) has been developed to detect fuel parameters through advanced hydro carbon profiling which measures the molecular structure of fuel. This allows real time optimization of injection, combustion and post-treatment for all types of fuel, including bio-fuels.

Caterpillar Launches New Marine Analog Power Display

Caterpillar has made available its new Marine Analog Power Display (MAPD), a monitoring system for electronically controlled Caterpillar marine engines. Cat MAPD combines the accuracy and dependability of electronics with the simplicity and visual clarity of conventional analog gauges. MAPD consists of electronic, data-link-driven analog gauges and a control module. Various sizes and types of gauges are available, including two- or three-inch diameter tachometer, temperature, pressure, voltage, percent load, fuel rate and fuel level gauges.
