Matt Yacavone Joins Crowley

Matt Yacavone joins Crowley as Vice President of Sales and Chartering, Petroleum Services. He will be domiciled in the company's Jacksonville headquarters and report to Rob Grune, senior vice president and general manager, petroleum services. Yacavone, who assumes his new position Jan. 7, will be responsible for the planning and direction of sales and chartering initiatives, overseeing development of policies and procedures, coordinating and negotiating customer contracts and developing business relations, particularly in the company's articulated-tug barge (ATB) and tanker programs.

Crowley’s Otero Named VP

Crowley Maritime Corporation’s liner services division has announced  that Tony Otero has been named vice president of Caribbean services. He will remain domiciled in Crowley’s Jacksonville headquarters, and will continue to report to John Hourihan, who was recently named senior vice president and general manager of the company’s Puerto Rico and Caribbean services. In his new role, which is currently held by Matt Jackson – who will assume a new position on Crowley’s petroleum services team Jan.

W&O Supply, a supplier of marine valves, pipe, fittings, engineered products, valve automation and data management systems, has established operations in Brazil, with the first office located in Rio de Janeiro. “The growing marine and offshore industries in Brazil provide incredible opportunity for us,” said Michael Hume, President and CEO of W&O. “Establishing commercial operations in South America is a necessary step in implementing our growth strategies for this decade, and the new office in Rio is a key driver in cultivating a future network of operations throughout the continent. The Brazil business is led by Alex Piquer, W&O’s managing director for all South America operations.

MARAD to Recognize Crowley and North Florida Shipyards for $18M Conversion

Crowley Liner Services and North Florida Shipyards will be recognized on December 20 in Jacksonville by U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) officials for their contributions in the successful completion of the $18 million conversion of the Ready Reserve Force ship MV Cape Washington. 12:30 p.m. Crowley and North Florida Shipyards. The Cape Washington is the second ship to undergo this conversion at North Florida Shipyards. The MV Cape Wrath was completed in 2001 at a cost of approximately $15 million. program. support of military and humanitarian operations. There are 76 ships in the force.
