Canadian Coast Guard Awards Contract for Icebreaker Life Extension

Canada's Minister of Public Services and Procurement, Jean-Yves Duclos, on behalf of the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, Diane Lebouthillier, announced a contract award following a competitive process, valued at approximately $44 million (including taxes) to Ocean Industries Inc. for the vessel life extension of the CCGS Griffon.Scheduled to take place from June 2025 to October 2026, the vessel life extension work entails refurbishing and repairing the main propulsion motors…

Ocean Group Acquires Verreault Shipyard

Ocean Group announced it has acquired the Verreault shipyard, located in the municipality of Les Méchins, in the Gaspé Peninsula, on Canada's east coast.Founded in 1956, Verreault Shipyard specializes in ship repair and conversion. With this transaction, Ocean Group adds capacity and grows its workforce by a hundred. The Gaspé Peninsula shipyard is equipped with a 244-meter-long and 56-meter-wide dry dock. Océan Remorquage Montréal Inc. tugboat 'Ocean Pierre Julien' christened at the Ocean Industries shipyard, Isle-aux-Coudres. The construction of this tug cost $ 10.6 million, and the vessel is the 3rd of the Intrépide series to be built at Ocean Industries. Largest Dredger Ever Built in E. Canada Christened

Recent christening at Ocean Industries Shipyard of the largest dredge ever built in Eastern Canada, the 'Ocean Traverse Nord'. The Ocean Traverse Nord  was built this past year at Ocean Industries shipyard at Isle-aux- Coudres. A  25-million-dollar shipbuilding project, the largest ever in Eastern Canada and Ocean's first dredge, created over fifty new jobs at the shipyard while generating major direct and indirect economic benefits for the Québec City region and especially for Charlevoix.
