GCT (USA) President & CEO James Devine Retires

Global Container Terminals (GCT) has announced the retirement of James J. Devine, President & CEO of GCT USA, at the end of June, 2014. Devine’s retirement brings a distinguished 13-year tenure with GCT to a close, where he was instrumental in revitalizing the US operations. “Jim is an exceptional leader who has capably navigated the company through challenging market conditions. GCT’s success is a testament to his tireless work and vision,” said Stephen Edwards, President and Chief Executive Officer of GCT Global Container Terminals Inc. “We are grateful for innumerable contributions.” In the coming years, Devine will serve as a senior advisor to continue supporting the strategic growth of GCT USA.

New York Container Terminal Attracts New Customers

Staten Island, N.Y. - New York Container Terminal Inc. (NYCT), a full-service ocean container and intermodal cargo-handling facility in the Port of New York and New Jersey, today announced that its Centralized Examination Site (CES) has handled more than 2,000 container inspections since opening in January. The NYCT facility is meeting all U.S. Customs and Border Protection requirements to operate as a Comprehensive CES and attracting new customers to use the facility from customers across the entire port. A Comprehensive CES performs all inspections which could be ordered on an ocean container entering the United States, including x-ray scanning, agricultural checks and intensive cargo exams. Witte Joins Noble Maritime Collection Board

Donjon Marine, Co., Inc. announced that President and CEO J. Arnold Witte has joined the Board of Trustees of the Noble Maritime Collection, a museum and study center located in a former dormitory at the famous retirement home for mariners, Sailors' Snug Harbor in Staten Island, N.Y. The museum celebrates the people and traditions of the working waterfront. Witte was named to the Board, along with Shelagh E. Mahoney, President of the Eastern Salt Company, and Captain Timothy J. Ferrie, a 30-year member and full branch pilot of the United New Jersey Sandy Hook Pilots Association. The announcement was made by James J. Devine, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Noble Maritime Collection and President of New York Container Terminal.
