Terex Port Solutions Delivers 1,000th Straddle Carrier

Landmark machine goes to long-time customer North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven GmbH & Co Würzburg, Germany, 11 July, 2014 – A ceremony today marked the departure of the 1,000th diesel-electric straddle carrier from the Terex Port Solutions (TPS) facility in Würzburg. The celebration was attended by the straddle carrier’s new owner as well as the Terex team members who built the machine. The landmark machine is going to long-time customer North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven GmbH & Co (NTB) as part of an order comprising a total of more than 30 Terex® N SC 644 E straddle carriers. The machines feature a lifting capacity of up to 60 t under spreader and can stack 9'6" high-cube containers 1-over-3.

Rotterdam: News From The World's Largest Port

Baltica Line has risen the frequency of its Saint Petersburg service . By deploying a third vessel it is possible to offer a sailing from Rotterdam every five days instead of 10. Mr. Peter van Dijk will temporarily replace Mr. Hans Simons as Alderman for the Port and Economic Affairs. The latter has been seriously ill for some time. So far Van Dijk was leader of the social democrat party in the municipal council. Morcon intends to take over Uniport container terminal. The latter is not considered part of the core business of its present owner Kühne & Nagel anymore. Morcon already owns a distribution terminal in Moerdijk and three empty depots and a container terminal in Rotterdam. Last year this terminal handled 115,000 containers. Uniport expects to handle 200,000 containers in 2000.
