MMA Offshore Upgrades Vessel to Support Taiwanese Offshore Wind Market

Australian offshore support vessel operator MMA Offshore has completed a subsea conversion program on the MMA Crystal vessel to support the Taiwanese offshore wind market.The new additions to the vessel feature subsea equipment including a work-class ROV, a 50Te A-frame, and a survey and positioning system.Following the conversion, the 70.5 meters long MMA Crystal is set to begin its journey to Taiwan where she will be engaged in supporting the offshore wind market.The offshore…

IHC Merwede Signs Agreement with Jaya

IHC Asia Pacific, a subsidiary of IHC Merwede, has signed an agreement with Jaya Shipbuilding and Engineering Pte Ltd, which enables IHC Asia Pacific’s high-specification offshore vessels to be produced by Jaya at its yards in Singapore and Batam, Indonesia. Jaya, IHC Merwede Sign Agreement

Jaya Holdings Limited (“Jaya”) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Jaya Shipbuilding and Engineering Pte Ltd has signed an agreement with IHC Merwede Asia Pacific which enables IHC’s high-specification offshore vessels to be produced by Jaya at its yards in Singapore and Batam, Indonesia. As part of the wide-ranging agreement, IHC Merwede will also provide design and engineering support services to Jaya. The agreement creates the opportunity for further collaboration between the companies in future, aligned with Jaya’s strategy of building sophisticated and modern offshore support vessels and IHC Merwede’s plans for further expansion of its integrated shipbuilding and equipment manufacturing operations in the region.

Jaya Secures Contracts of Approximately US$84 Million

Jaya Holdings Limited (“JAYA”) has announced that it has, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Jaya Shipbuilding and Engineering Pte Ltd, secured ship building contracts of approximately US$84 million to deliver a 5,150 bhp Anchor Handling Tug and Supply Vessel (“AHTSV”) and a 16,000 bhp AHTSV. The 16,000 bhp AHTSV, one of the largest vessels to be built by JAYA, is constructed and designed for offshore support and is capable of oil rig towing, oil rig positioning and anchor handling, offshore oilfield supply, stand by rescue, and iceberg towing/ice management. The state of the art vessel is Ice Class 1A; giving it the ability to navigate in moderate level ice conditions and northern regions.

Seabulk Offshore Orders Two

Expanding its presence in the growing offshore West African market, Seabulk Offshore -- a subsidiary of Seabulk International, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBLK) -- announced that it has ordered two additional vessels for delivery in late 2004 and mid-2005, respectively. Built at a combined cost of approximately $23.4 million, the new vessels will work under long-term contracts for a major international oil company in offshore Angola. "West Africa is our biggest market and represents more than half of Seabulk Offshore's revenue," commented Larry D. Francois, President of Seabulk Offshore. The vessels, the Seabulk Advantage and the Seabulk Luanda, bring to five the total number of newbuilds currently under construction for Seabulk Offshore.

Deep Sea Supply Takes Delivery of AHTS

Deep Sea announced that it took delivery of the AHTS-vessel Sea Jaguar from Jaya Shipbuilding and Engineering Pte Ltd in Singapore. Twin screw Khiam Chuang design Anchor Handling Tug/Supply Vessel is outfitted and equipped for anchor handling, towing, fire fighting, dynamic positioning, rescue , offshore supply and other related duties. The Vessel will be classed as offshore support anchor handling supply vessel, fire fighting class 1, DPS-2, ACCU for Unrestricted Service. Twin maneuvering consoles are fitted in the wheelhouse stations, forward and aft. The Dynamic Positioning with joy-stick controls provided at the aft controls.

Deep Sea Supply Vessel to be Delivered in 2007

Deep Sea Supply PLC has through its subsidiary DESS Cyprus Limited entered into an agreement with Java Marine Lines Pte Ltd. for a 1 year firm bareboat charter of a 10.800 BHP Anchor Handling Tugs Supply vessel. The vessel is to be commissioned and delivered by Jaya Shipbuilding & Engineering Pte. Ltd. in Singapore in September/October 2007. Deep Sea Supply PLC has secured a purchase option at the end of the 1 year BB charter. Deep Sea Supply will operate the vessel in Asia, Middle East and West Africa.

GulfMark Offshore Announces Vessel Sales, Delivery and Acquisition

GulfMark Offshore, Inc. today announced the completion of the sale of the Highland Patriot, the Highland Sentinel, the delivery of the newbuild Sea Sovereign, and the acquisition of an option vessel, Hull 861B. The Highland Patriot, a 1982 built 233 ft. platform supply vessel operating in Southeast Asia and the Highland Sentinel, a 1979 built 266 ft. platform supply vessel operating in the North Sea were sold in September and October, respectively. Both are expected to be converted for seismic work. The combined sales price of the two vessels was approximately $18 million resulting in a pre-tax gain of approximately $10 million, of which approximately $6.6 million will be recognized in the 3rd quarter and $3.4 million in the 4th quarter of 2006.
