Transas ECDIS Chosen by Maersk Tankers Again

The IMO requirement has phased installation of ECDIS on board all ships, beginning July 2012. Maersk Tankers, one of the world’s largest product tanker companies, has selected Transas to address this by implementing ECDIS compliance program across the Maersk Tankers’ fleet. New e-Navigation Technologies from Transas

Transas Marine introduced new software solutions for voyage planning and fleet management at SMM 2014 as a step towards becoming the forerunner in the development of e-Navigation technologies. Among new launches is Transas Navi-Planner 4000 on a touch screen display. The Navi-Planner 4000 touch screen offers a new way of voyage planning on a 46 inch multi-touch display. The large display makes the voyage planning easier due to the extensive overview and easily accessible layers of information. Navi-Planner combines ENC’s, weather data, digital publications, Notices to Mariners, piracy updates, fuel monitoring and much more to help you optimize your port-to-port voyage.

Danelec to Supply VDRs to Transas

Transas and Danelec Marine announced that Transas has selected Danelec Marine as one of the company’s suppliers of Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs). Under the agreement, Transas becomes an authorized partner for Danelec Marine, providing VDRs for newbuilds and retrofits through its sales offices and representatives around the world. The Danelec DM100 is the first VDR type approved and Wheelmarked under the new International Maritime Organization (IMO) standard, which came into force July 1, 2014. KVH, Transas Team Up for Electronic Charts Update

KVH Industries, Inc., and Transas announced today a strategic relationship designed to ensure vessels at sea receive affordable, timely updates of mandatory electronic chart data. The CHARTlink channel of KVH’s IP-MobileCast content delivery service will support delivery of chart and other data updates from Transas, a producer of electronic chart display and information systems (ECDIS) and a leading provider of electronic navigation charts (ENC) and data services. This is the first of many steps envisioned by Transas for delivery of value-added data for shipboard use with the IP-MobileCast service. International maritime regulations mandate the use of ECDIS for commercial and passenger vessels.

Transas Names Pfeiffer Navigation Director

Transas Marine has announced the appointment of Jens Pfeiffer as a Business Division Director, Navigation, Transas Marine. Jens Pfeiffer first joined Transas as a Sales Manager, Navigation in the company’s German office in 2005 where he worked for two years. Afterwards, he moved to a position of a Managing Director of the German subsidiary of a stock listed Norwegian Ship Supply Company, where Jens was later on promoted to a Vice President, Northern Europe before joining Transas again.
