Waterjet systems manufacturer Jet Edge, Inc. celebrated its 30th anniversary Sept. 3 with a special open house celebration. Jet Edge’s anniversary event included a special ribbon cutting ceremony courtesy of the I-94 West Chamber of Commerce, a barbecue lunch, factory tours, and live 5-axis waterjet cutting demonstrations. Jet Edge President Jude Lague and TC/American Monorail President Paul Lague were honored by St. Michael Mayor Jerry Zachman. They also received recognition letters from U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar and U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann.

American manufacturer Jet Edge informs that its EDGE X-5 5-axis waterjet system with AquaVision Di Controller cuts precise taper-free parts from virtually any material. Jet Edge, Inc. has announced  that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued the waterjet manufacturer a patent for a high pressure fluid sealing mechanism designed by Jet Edge R&D Engineer Michael Wheeler. Jet Edge’s proprietary high pressure fluid sealing mechanism (U.S. Patent 8,333,387) improves waterjet seal life by providing robust Metal-on-Metal sealing without the use of conventional plastic seals. This technology uses two convex curved surfaces in single line contact with one another to seal ultra-high pressure (UHP) fluid at static pressures up to 130,000 psi.

Designed with the water jet contractor in mind, Jet Edge’s High Flow Abrasivejet delivers up to 3.5 pounds per minute (5.95 L/min) of abrasive and up to 8.6 gallons per minute (31.15 L/min) of ultra-high pressure water for abrasive water jet cutting applications.   The High Flow Abrasivejet is ideal for cutting thick materials such as reinforced concrete or for making separation cuts in steel plates or pipes.  It is capable of operating up to 55,000 psi (3800 bar) and is especially suited for use with lower-pressure, high-flow water jet pumps.  It can be used with any manufacturer’s waterjet system.   www.jetedge.com

Pacific Ship Repair & Fabrication (PACSHIP) is now offering precision water jet cutting services at its San Diego shipyard and fabrication shop. The ship repair and fabrication contractor is capable of processing complex parts from virtually any material with its new 60,000 psi Jet Edge Mid Rail Gantry water jet cutting system, which features an eight-ft by 13-ft work envelope and is capable of maintaining +/- 0.001 inch linear positional accuracy (over 12 inches) and +/- 0.001 inches repeatability (bi-directional).

Deproost is responsible for sales of Jet Edge systems in Europe, South America and the Middle East, and for developing international distribution partners in Africa, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean and Central America. Antoine brings to Jet Edge more than 20 years of experience in international sales and global product management. Deproost has an Electro-Mechanics engineering degree from T.I.K.B of Belgium and a specialization diploma in electronics from PBNA, a Dutch engineering academy. He also has received training in marketing and sales.
