Yanmar America Hires Micu

He will oversee all engine sales and be responsible for the strategic development of long-term sales growth plans and annual sales targets related to industrial engines, commercial and large marine engines in the Americas.Prior to Yanmar, Micu served 15 years in various roles at John Deere Power Systems. New Deere Marine Engine Ships

John Deere Power Systems is shipping the new PowerTech 4045SFM85 marine engine to boat owners and builders. The manufacturer touts the PowerTech 4045SFM85's power-to-weight, torque and compact size, saying it is suited for planing and semi-displacement hulls.The PowerTech 4045SFM85 engine has two ratings:--  M4 rating with 205 kW (275 hp) at 2600 rpm and--  M5 rating with 235 kW (315 hp) at 2800 rpm. These ratings are ideal for light-duty commercial vessels, high-speed governmental applications and high-speed pleasure crafts.

John Deere Rolls Out Trio of Marine Engines

John Deere Power Systems has expanded its lineup with three new marine engines available for order from early 2018. The new 4.5L PowerTech 4045SFM85 offers high power to weight ratio for repowering and new vessel construction, and is ideal for planing and semi-displacement hulls, the manufacturer said. New Marine Engines

John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) announced new Marine Tier 3 PowerTechTM 4.5L and 6.8L propulsion and generator-drive engines. John Deere will meet U.S. EPA Marine Tier 3 emissions regulations that began to take effect in 2009 based on cylinder displacement and power per displacement with a complete lineup of PowerTech 4.5L and 6.8L propulsion and generator-drive engines. They also will achieve compliance with IMO Tier II emissions regulations and EU 97/68/EC. New EPA Marine Tier 3 regulations will impact John Deere 4.5L and 6.8L engines beginning January 1, 2013.

New design offers 400 hp in a more compact 6.8L marine engine. John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) is pleased to announce a redesigned PowerTech™ 6068SFM75 marine diesel engine that offers a power range of 186 kW to 298 kW (249 hp to 400 hp). The redesigned PowerTech 6068SFM75 joins the PowerTech 6090SFM75 at 410 kW (550 hp) and 6135SFM75 at 559 kW (750 hp) to complete the high horsepower marine engine lineup. The new 6.8L marine engine represents John Deere’s continued commitment to offer customers a complete lineup of marine engines rated for commercial fishing and high-speed recreational craft.

JDPS adds 550-hp Rating to new 6090SFM75 Diesel

John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) announced a new 410 kW (550 hp) recreational vessel rating for the 6090SFM75 marine engine. The PowerTech 6090SFM75 recreational rating joins the 6068SFM75 298 kW (400 hp) and 6135SFM75 559 kW (750 hp) recreational ratings to offer customers a complete lineup of John Deere marine engines that are rated for high-speed recreational craft such as sport fishing boats and planing hull yachts. This new John Deere marine engine rating is due to hit the water in November 2011 as an addition to the current 6090SFM75 242 kW to 373 kW (325 hp to 500 hp) power options.

John Deere’s Newest Diesel Engine

John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) announced its newest marine engine the PowerTech 6090AFM75 marine diesel engine is the newest addition to the John Deere lineup and boasts up to 317 kW (425 hp). John Deere will have four other PowerTech diesel engines on display at the show: the 4045TFM75, 6068AFM75, 6090SFM75 and 6135SFM75. All of these engines meet EPA Tier 2 and EU propulsion emissions requirements and are MARPOL Annex VI compliant. “John Deere continues to work on expanding the marine engine lineup with more new models and horsepower ratings,” said Dave Flaherty, marine marketing manager for John Deere Power Systems. The new PowerTech 6090AFM75 has 9.0L of displacement and is a 6-cylinder, electronically controlled, turbocharged and air-to-engine coolant aftercooled marine engine.

This event will attract exhibitors from 50 nations, including the major yards from the leading shipbuilding nations, representatives of the marine equipment industry, and a whole range of small and medium-sized companies. More than 100 new exhibitors from all product areas have been accepted for SMM 2010. In the shipyard sector, for example, the Indian company Pipavav Shipyard Ltd. chose SMM 2010 for its first presentation on the international scene. It is India's largest shipyard, building freighters, offshore vessels and naval ships.

John Deere Power Systems has added a new engine rating to its current line of marine engine products - the PowerTech 6068SFM. The engine has an M5 rating with 300 hp (224 kW) at 2,600 rpm and is specially suited for rescue boats, pilot boats and other light-duty applications. This new heat exchanger cooled engine will incorporate a seawater aftercooler, electronically controlled fuel system, cruise-by-wire control, diagnostic messaging and self-protection. The high-torque 6068SFM achieves constant power at a rated speed from 2,600 rpm down to 2,300 rpm; the lower rpm reduces vibration and noise, provides exceptional control and maneuverability and enables the engine to turn larger propellers more efficiently.

JDPS Releases New Propulsion Engine

PowerTech 6.8L marine propulsion engine. The 6068SFM75 offers up to 298 kW (400 hp) and is the newest marine engine offered by John Deere. This new engine model meets EPA Tier 2 and EU emissions requirements and is MARPOL Annex VI compliant. The 6.8L marine engine is available in M1 through M5 ratings. The M5 rating is for marine applications that operate 300 hours or less per year and have load factors less than 35 percent with 30 minutes out of each 8 hours of operation at full power. At M5, its highest rating, the 6.8L offers 298 kW (400 hp) at 2800 rpm* and consumes 77.6 liters of fuel per hour (20.5 gallons) at full load rated speed.

JDPS Debuts Its Highest HP Engine

John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) recently introduced its new 12.5L marine propulsion engine. The 6125SFM75 offers 610 hp (455 kW) and is the most powerful engine offered by John Deere. This new engine model is EPA Tier 2 emissions certified, meets EU emissions requirements and is IMO compliant. The 12.5L engine is also M4 rated, indicating use for marine applications that operate up to 800 hours per year and have load factors less than 40 percent with one hour out of each 12 hours of operation at full power. At its M4 rating, the 12.5L offers 610 hp (455 kW) at 2100 rpm* and consumes 31.3 gallons of fuel per hour at full load rated speed. “We are very pleased to be able to offer marine customers our highest horsepower engine yet,” says Carl Micu, sales product manager.
