Port Everglades Hosts Columbian Delegation
On the heels of the announcement that the Free Trade Agreement with Colombia will go into effect in May, Port Everglades and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport hosted a delegation of public officials from Colombia to discuss international trade and visit Broward County's seaport. Port Everglades is the top seaport in Florida for trade with Colombia, which totaled more than $1 billion in FY 2011, representing 54 percent of Colombian trade through all of Florida's seaports last year.
The Glosten Associates Appoint New Director of Engineering
The Glosten Associates has named John Edgar to serve as the firmâs Director of Engineering. In this role, he is responsible for establishing and maintaining the firmâs âbest practicesâ engineering processes. Edgar, a senior naval architect and firm principal, is a 1987 graduate of Webb Institute of Naval Architecture. He has 20 years of broad vessel design and project management experience, and recently served as Glostenâs Program Manager for Boeingâs Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX) Platform project. Edgar specializes in the conceptual design of high-performance vessels. Tom Bringloe served in this capacity for over 25 years. Bringloe specializes in structural design and analysis and has been instrumental in developing the firmâs support to complex offshore operations.
