Nexans Wins Seagreen OWF Gig

French global player in the cable and optical fiber industry, Nexans said that it has received a contract from SSE Renewables, a renewable energy arm of Airtricity, for 1075 MW Seagreen offshore wind farm (OWF) project.Nexans will be  the preferred supplier to design, manufacture and install the onshore and offshore export cables for the Phase 1 development of the Seagreen offshore wind farm project.Currently under construction off the Angus coast, Phase 1 comprises the Seagreen Alpha and Bravo wind farms, which will form the largest windfarm project in Scotland when they come on line in 2024.Nexans will supply and install the three…

SSE Picks Montrose for Seagreen O&M

Dublin-based SSE Renewables, a renewable energy subsidiary of Airtricity, has selected the port of Montrose on the east coast of Scotland to serve as the operations and maintenance (O&M) base for its 1100MW Seagreen offshore wind farm.Situated over 27km off the Angus coastline, Seagreen is the furthest from shore of any Scottish offshore wind farm and is expected to produce enough renewable energy to power over 40% of all households in Scotland. Access to INTERTANKO's Terminal Vetting Database (TVD) is now available to those who are tanker owners/operators, terminal owners/operators, PSC authorities and others with a legitimate interest in improving safety, but who are not Members or Associate Members of the Association. Access to the TVD continues to remain free of charge, although access still requires agreement and compliance with the TVD's terms and conditions of use. Y2K Conference Held In New York

The Y2K Luncheon, sponsored by the Maritime Association of the Port of New York and New Jersey, brought together individuals from three main sectors of the shipping industry, to discuss what steps each had made in designing and implementing a plan to ensure computer systems were "Y2K" (or Year 2000) compliant.
