Eastern Pacific Shipping to Equip Pacific Sentinel with eSAIL Wind Propulsion System

UK North Sea Field Owners Agree to Keep Exporting Oil to Flotta Terminal

Oil and gas company Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Limited said Monday that owners of  Golden Eagle, Piper, and Claymore fields, located in the North Sea northeast of Aberdeen, have executed new agreements reaffirming their commitment to export produced oil to the Flotta Terminal until the end of field life in the 2030s."This commitment to support the longevity of the terminal underpins a variety of growth opportunities in the wider area, including renewed drilling and several third party tie-backs.

The Path to Zero: Amasus Shipping inks deal to power M/V EEMS Traveller with Wind

The M/V EEMS Traveller, owned and operated by the Dutch shipowner Amasus Shipping, will start harnessing the power of wind. The 91 meters length general cargo vessel will be retrofitted with two 17-metre-high eSAILs during a port call in 2022. A similar unit was installed by bound4blue in December 2021 on M/V La Naumon, being the largest suction sail ever built and installed on a ship.The suction sails are expected to reduce the 2,850 dwt ship’s fuel costs and annual CO2 emissions by up to 30 percent in favorable trade routes.

Nordex Wind Energy Orders Top 6.2GW in 2019

The turbine manufacturing and installation company Nordex Group booked turbine orders totaling 6207MW in 2019, up 31% on the 4754MW in 2018.The German manufacturer secured deals with a combined capacity of 1477MW in the fourth quarter of last year, which was down on the 1679MW in the last three months of 2018.Overall, the Nordex Group received orders to deliver 1,616 wind turbines with a total output of 6,207 MW in 2019, representing a 31 percent increase on the previous year (2018: 4,754 MW).In the fourth quarter of 2019, the majority of this volume (57 percent) was attributable to turbines in the Delta4000 series.
