Netherlands' short sea shipping firm JR Shipping has expanded its container feeder fleet by purchasing a vessel and entering into a new management contract.According to a press note from the Harlingen-based shipowner and manager, the two vessels were transferred to the shipping company. JR Shipping Increases Container Capacity
Dutch shipowner and manager JR Shipping takes over four container spring ships and is expanding its fleet again.Harlingen-based JR Shipping said that it has added three 1,436 TEU container feeders to its fleet. A fourth vessel with the same capacity will be added within the next few months.Taking into account the recent sale of one of its container feeders, JR Shipping will thus increase its container capacity by over 4,500 TEU.The phased purchase concerns the MV’s Aalderdijk, Akerdijk and Alsterdijk (first phase) and the MV Amerdijk (second phase). The first-mentioned two vessels have now been rechristened MV Essence and MV Escape and will sail for JR Shipping under the Dutch flag.The current charter contracts with WEC Lines and Unifeeder will continue.
JR Shipping Seals Refinancing Deal
Dutch shipowner and manager JR Shipping has succeeded in involving a credit investment fund in London in the refinancing of JR Fleet Fund CV – a shipping fund which has financed eleven container feeders belonging to the shipping company’s fleet. Under the auspices of the shipping company, the British financier has taken over more than EURO 126 million (USD151 million) loan/debt from German HSH Nordbank. On 5 December 2017, the bank’s Executive Board gave its approval; the closing took place on 15 December. JR Fleet Fund CV is the result of a previous successful restructuring operation which was realised in 2012 in close collaboration between HSH Nordbank, the shipping company and its CV-partners.
SeaZip Continues Fleet Expansion
In a celebratory atmosphere, marking the sustained growth of its fleet, SeaZip Offshore Services has taken delivery of two Damen Fast Crew Suppliers (FCS) 2610. Continuing the company’s vessel-naming trend, the new additions will be known as SeaZip 5 and SeaZip 6. The offshore service provider now has six Damen FCS 2610 vessels in its fleet. SeaZip Takes Delivery of Damen Crew Suppliers
On 28 March, SeaZip Offshore Service named two new Damen Fast Crew Suppliers (FCS) 2610 at Damen Shipyards Gorinchem. The two vessels, named SeaZip 3 and SeaZip 4, will expand their owner’s offshore wind farm support capacity in the North Sea region. SeaZip 3 and SeaZip 4 can be described as the Mark II version of Damen’s renowned FCS 2610. Two More Damen Twin Axe Catamarans for SeaZip
Damen Shipyards and SeaZip Offshore Service signed another contract for two Damen Fast Crew Suppliers (FCS) 2610 at Wind Energy in Hamburg. The two new vessels, to be named SeaZip 3 and SeaZip 4, will be mobilized in transporting personnel and small quantities of freight to North Sea offshore wind farms. The new orders follow the delivery last year of two FCS 2610 – named SeaZip 1 and SeaZip 2 – that have been performing successfully at the NordseeOst and DanTysk offshore wind farms in the German Bight.
Twin Axe Catamarans Named and Deployed
The new SeaZip service catamarans are set to sail for North Sea offshore wind farm. In Harlingen (the Netherlands), two newly-constructed Damen ‘Twin Axe’ catamaran ships of the FCS 2610 type were officially named on March, 22. These ships will soon be deployed in the completion stage of a large-scale wind farm on the North Sea, 90 km northwest of the island of Borkum. This offshore wind farm is being constructed by the German BARD Group, which will charter the vessels from their owner, SeaZip Offshore Service - a sister company of JR Shipping Group in Harlingen.
Damen Shipyards Sign New Contract at EWEA
Damen Shipyards and SeaZip Offshore Service will sign a contract at the EWEA conference. SeaZip has ordered two Fast Crew Suppliers of the 2610-type. The first ever FCS 2610 was delivered early 2011 and offers reduced peak accelerations of up to 75%, reduced added resistance in waves of up to 60% and has already transferred maintenance crew to turbines in wave heights of 1.9 m. Jan Reier Arends, one of Seazip’s Managing Directors, will sign the contract with Roel van Eijle, Sales Manager Benelux, on the first day of the 2011 Offshore conference of the European Wind Energy Association.
CMA CGM New Feeder Service from Hamburg
In mid-January, the French shipping company CMA CGM started operating a new feeder service between the Port of Hamburg and the Danish ports of Fredericia and Copenhagen, as well as Halmstad in Sweden and the Baltic Sea port of Szczecin in Poland.
