KBR Secures FEED Contract for Liquid CO2 Terminal in Danish Port

KBR has been awarded a Front-End Engineering Design (FFED) contract by Fidelis New Energy for Project Fyrkat, a liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2) receiving terminal at the Port of Aalborg, Denmark. KBR will provide engineering to support the LCO2 handling and storage facility, as Fidelis New Energy aims to help global decarbonization.Project Fyrkat is one of the first onshore CO2 sequestration facilities, and is part of a larger initiative, Project Norne, which expects to store more than 20 million tonnes of CO2 per year by 2030. This equates to around half of Denmark's yearly emissions.

FID Reached for Second Phase of Plaquemines LNG Export Project

Nigeria to Build its First FLNG Unit

Nigerian company UTM Offshore has signed a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the development of an FLNG facility in Nigeria with JGC Corporation, Technip Energies, and KBR.This will be Nigeria's first floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility. Foreship Appoints Sward to Head US Operations

Naval architecture and marine engineering company Foreship Ltd has appointed Benjamin Sward as President of Foreship LLC to take responsibility for the company’s U.S. activities. KBR Wins Aramco Offshore Contract

American engineering company KBR, Inc., announced that it has been awarded a project management contract by Saudi Aramco to provide project management services for Saudi Aramco's offshore program.KBR will provide project management and engineering services for existing and new offshore facilities to maintain and increase crude production levels to meet Saudi Aramco's maximum sustained capability for production under the company's capital program under the terms of this six-year contract.KBR's Saudi joint venture company, KBR-AMCDE, will undertake all in-kingdom work scopes while KBR's Houston and London operations centers will execute all out-of-kingdom scopes.

Kogas, EVC Pact for Vietnam LNG Terminal

South Korean public natural gas company Korea Gas Corporation (Kogas) and Vietnam-focused development and asset management company Energy Capital Vietnam (ECV) have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the development of a privately-funded LNG regasification terminal in Vietnam.The MOU also covers the development of a storage facility, gas supply system, and a 3,200 MW gas-fired power project near Mui Ke Ga, Binh Thuan Province, Vietnam, said a press note.The MOU contemplates KOGAS and ECV working together to optimize their efforts to meet the significant LNG demand growth forecasted for Vietnam. Pieridae Mulls Extensions with Uniper

Canadian energy company has negotiated extensions of the key deadlines under its 20-year agreement with German energy trader Uniper.These include expected commercial deliveries of  LNG gas to Uniper to start between November 30, 2024 and May 31, 2025, and the extension of the deadline to make a positive financial investment decision (FID) for the company’s proposed Goldboro LNG facility to September 30, 2020.The 20-year agreement with Uniper is for half the liquefied natural gas produced at Goldboro or 5 mmtpa (million tonnes per annum).“These extensions allow us to complete the work needed to make a final investment decision for the Goldboro Project,” said Pieridae CEO Alfred Sorensen.

Naval Group Engages KBR in SEA1000 Project

Increased Norwegian Content for Johan Sverdrup Platform

Today, Kvaerner and its sub-contractors cut the first steel plates for the utility- and living quarters (ULQ) topside for the Johan Sverdrup field. The topside construction starts on schedule and budget. The Johan Sverdrup development is being executed with a high degree of Norwegian value creation. Kvaerner's efforts to improve competitiveness have resulted in a large portion of the work for the ULQ platform to be executed in Norway. This gives Kvaerner and Norwegian subcontractors a steady activity and also a continued high number of apprentices. In June 2015, Kvaerner in a joint venture with KBR won the contract for the complete delivery of the utility and living quarter (ULQ) topside.

Subsea 7, Centirca Collaborate in Norway

Subsea 7 was awarded of a long-term agreement to provide support to Centrica throughout early phase Concept engineering, FEED, SURF project execution and Life of Field operations on an exclusive basis. The agreement is applicable to the Centrica portfolio on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and has a duration of five years plus options for extension. Magnolia Inks deal with Meridian

Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd informed that its 100% owned project company, Magnolia LNG, LLC signed a legally binding agreement with Meridian LNG Holdings Corp for firm capacity rights for up to 2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) at Magnolia LNG, located on the Calcasieu shipping channel in the Lake Charles District, State of Louisiana, USA. Under the liquefaction tolling agreement (LTA), Magnolia will provide liquefaction servicesto Meridian LNG over the term of the contract in return for monthly capacity payments. Meridian LNG is responsible for procurement and delivery of feed gas to the liquefaction plant and for arranging all LNG shipping required to transport the LNG from the liquefaction plant to its customers.

Subsea 7, KBR Team Up

Oslo-listed offshore shipowner Subsea 7 has signed an agreement with Houston-based company, KBR and its subsidiary Granherne, to form an alliance in the delivery of concept and front end engineering and design (FEED) services. Kværner Reports Robust Performance

Growing order intake and activity level in a challenging market. Kvaerner's order intake in the second quarter was NOK 5 674 million, an increase from NOK 5 360 million in the same quarter last year. The company has also continued the high activity level with revenues for the quarter of NOK 3 125 million, an increase of 9 percent from the corresponding quarter last year. Kvaerner has a positive net cash position, a situation that is a particular strength in the current market. The Board has revised the dividend policy to reflect that retaining a solid balance sheet and cash position is a priority. Kvaerner has a portfolio of projects in different phases and with a relatively wide margin range under execution.

Kvaerner, KBR Partner for Johan Sverdrup Contracts

Kvaerner and KBR, Inc. will establish a joint venture to competitively bid on offshore platform topsides contracts for the Johan Sverdrup field development offshore Norway, the companies announced. The alliance combines Kvaerner's expertise and resources as a turn-key contractor for offshore platforms with KBR's competence as an international offshore oil and gas contractor. "KBR sees Kvaerner as one of this industry's most experienced EPC contractor, particularly for demanding projects in Norway, including the Johan Sverdrup field," said Stuart Bradie, KBR President and Chief Executive Officer. The Johan Sverdrup field is one of Norway's largest offshore oil and gas fields, and it is expected that the first development phase will include four offshore platforms for a new field center.

Kvaerner, KBR JV wins Johan Sverdrup Deal

Kvaerner in a joint venture with KBR has signed a contract with Statoil for the complete delivery of the platform topside to the Johan Sverdrup field development. The agreement to deliver the deck for the utility and living quarter (ULQ) platform comes after a tough international competition, where Kvaerner-KBR presented the best overall bid. The agreement has an estimated total value for the Kvaerner- KBR partnership of approximately NOK 6.7 billion. The ULQ-platform is one of four platforms to the Phase One development of the Johan Sverdrup oil and gas field on the Norwegian continental shelf. Kvaerner-KBR joint venture will execute the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for the ULQ topside as one complete delivery.

KBR, Daewoo win Eni FLNG FEED

KBR Inc. announced today that the KD Consortium, consisting of KBR and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Company, Ltd, has been awarded a front end engineering design (FEED) contract by Eni East Africa SpA for a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility for the Coral South Development Project located in Mozambique. With the award, the KD consortium will be one of three consortia competing for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) contract to build the new floating LNG facility for Eni East Africa and its partners to develop the hydrocarbon discovery in the Rovuma Basin in Mozambique. Only one consortium will be chosen to take the project to the EPCIC phase. FEED activities started in May 2014.
