Keppel FELS Delivers 21st Rig of 2013

Keppel FELS Ltd (Keppel FELS) has delivered ARABDRILL 60, a KFELS B Class jackup rig, to Arabian Drilling Company (ADC) five days ahead of schedule, on budget and with a perfect safety record. This marks the 21st newbuild offshore rig that Keppel FELS has delivered in 2013, setting a new record for the most rig deliveries by a company in a year. Keppel FELS Delivers Jackup Rig to Ensco

Delivery marks 20th rig completion by Keppel FELS in 2013. Keppel FELS Ltd. (Keppel FELS) has delivered ENSCO 121, the second ultra-premium harsh environment ENSCO 120 Series jackup rig, to Ensco plc (Ensco). Built to an enhanced version of Keppel’s proprietary KFELS Super A Class design, the rig has been chartered for deployment in the North Sea. Keppel to Build New Drillship to its Proprietary Design

The CAN DO drillship will be the front runner in exploration, development and completion operations. Following positive feedback and strong enquiries from the market, Keppel FELS Ltd (Keppel FELS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd. (Keppel O&M), is proceeding with the building of its new CAN DO drillship. When completed in 2016, the drillship is expected to be a state-of-the-art deepwater exploration, development and completion drilling vessel. Keppel FELS wins IES Award for Rig Design

Keppel FELS Ltd’s (Keppel FELS) innovative and harsh environment accommodation semisubmersible design, DSS 20NS ,was conferred the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2013 by the Institute of Engineers Singapore (IES) at the World Engineers Summit Gala Dinner and Award Presentation, held in Singapore on 13 September 2013. Guest of Honour of the event, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, presented the award to Keppel FELS.

Floatel Orders Fifth Keppel Accommodation Semi

Keppel FELS Ltd. was awarded a contract worth about $280 million by Floatel International Ltd. to build its fifth accommodation semisubmersible (semi) for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2015. Keppel FELS previously delivered the accommodation semis, Floatel Superior and Floatel Reliance, in 2010 and is currently constructing two more: Floatel Victory and Floatel Endurance. The new semi will be a sister vessel to Floatel Victory and will be built to Keppel's proprietary SSAUTM5000NG design.

Keppel FELS Adds US$300 Million in New Contracts

Keppel FELS Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine, has secured three contracts worth a combined US$300 million from repeat customers. The contracts are for the construction of a KFELS B Class jackup rig from Star Drilling Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based company promoted by the companies of D.P. Jindal Group; the upgrading of the semisubmersible ENSCO 5006 for Ensco PLC (Ensco); and the upgrading of the semisubmersible Ocean Patriot for Diamond Offshore. Wong Kok Seng, Managing Director (Offshore) of Keppel O&M and Managing Director of Keppel FELS said, "We are glad to be able to continue from 2012 into 2013 by adding more contracts to our orderbook. J. Ray, Keppel FELS Joint Venture

J. Ray McDermott will undertake fabrication and installation work for the P-61 Tension Leg Wellhead Platform (TLWP) in more than 3,871 feet of water, for the Papa Terra Joint Venture, consisting of Petrobras (operator) and Chevron. The overall P-61 project — comprising design, engineering, construction, transportation, installation, and a three-year limited operations contract — was awarded to FloaTEC Singapore Pte Ltd (FloaTEC Singapore), a joint venture between Keppel FELS Ltd (Keppel FELS) and J. Ray. Almost all the work will be carried out through the combined resources of Keppel FELS, J. Ray and FloaTEC LLC (FloaTEC), the US-based joint venture company that will perform global engineering and basic design work.

Keppel FELS Delivers Rigs Early

Keppel FELS Ltd (Keppel FELS) has delivered two rigs safely, ahead of schedule and within budget to owners. The KFELS B Class jackup rig, Greatdrill Chitra, was delivered to India’s Greatship Global Energy Services Pte Ltd (Greatship) 12 days ahead of schedule, earning Keppel FELS a bonus of S$300,000. Keppel FELS also delivered Gold Star, the world’s first DSS 38 deepwater semisubmersible drilling rig, to Brazilian operator, Queiroz Galvão Óleo e Gás (QGOG), six days early. Both rigs are well on-track for their maiden deployments.

Keppel Acquires Interest in Verolme Botlek for $17.9 Million

Through its offshore rig-building division Keppel FELS Ltd., Keppel Corp. signed a preliminary contract with Verolme Botlek b.v. to attain an 85 percent interest in the Dutch offshore repair and conversion shipyard for $17.9 million. The remaining interest will be held by the management (10 percent), and workers' foundation (five percent). The acquisition of the shipyard, which is expected to be completed in the next few months (subject to due diligence and definitive agreements), is in synch with Keppel's near-market, near-customer strategy for a stronger foothold in the North Sea and European offshore and marine markets. Mainly, the North Sea holds Europe's largest oil and natural gas reserves and is one of the world's key non-OPEC producing regions — reaching 5.9 million bpd in 2001.

Keppel FELS $110M Contract

Keppel FELS Ltd (Keppel FELS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Corporation Ltd, has secured a contract to build a KFELS B Class jackup valued at US$110 million for Gulf Drilling International Limited (GDI), Qatar’s first national drilling company. The jackup, GULF-4, well suited in the Arabian Gulf and Indian waters, will be built to Keppel FELS’ proprietary design. It will be capable of operating in 300 feet water depth, drilling down to 30,000 feet and accommodating 110 men.

Keppel Wins $85M Rig Upgrade

Keppel FELS Ltd., a unit of Keppel Corporation Limited through Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has secured a contract from Diamond Offshore Services Company, a subsidiary of Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. (Diamond Offshore), to upgrade semisubmersible rig Ocean Endeavor for US$85 million. Completion of the upgrade is scheduled for fourth quarter 2006. Ocean Endeavor will be capable of drilling down to 35,000 feet and be fully outfitted for 8,000 feet moored operations, with design capabilities to operate in up to 10,000 feet of water. In addition, the rig will have increased crew quarters to accommodate up to 140 personnel, over 6,000 tons of operating variable deck load and increased usable deck space.

Keppel Clinches Another Rig Order

Keppel FELS Ltd (Keppel FELS), the wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has secured a US$128.8 million contract for the construction of a KFELS B Class jackup rig for Seatankers Management Co Ltd (Seatankers). Keppel Corp Wins $206m Contract

Keppel Wins $184m Rig Order from India

Keppel FELS Ltd (Keppel FELS) has secured a second order for a KFELS B Class jackup rig valued at $184 million from Jindal Group based in India. The agreement is signed with Jindal Pipes Limited and includes the design, engineering and construction of the rig as well as costs in getting the rig operationally ready. Like the first rig, this new jackup will be built to Keppel’s proprietary design, which has been further customised to meet the owner’s operational needs in water depths of up to 350 feet. It is readily upgraded to 400 feet water-depth when required. It will have a drilling depth capability of 30,000 feet and can accommodate 112 persons. The rig is due for delivery in end 2008.

Keppel Wins Contract from SeaDrill

Keppel FELS Ltd has secured a $132 million contract from a wholly-owned special purpose company of SeaDrill Limited for a KFELS B class jackup rig. Delivery of this new order is expected in the second quarter of 2008. This order was secured via an option given to Odfjell Partners Ltd. (Odfjell) when it ordered its first rig in March 2004. Odfjell placed an order for its second rig in March 2005. In mid 2005, SeaDrill acquired Odfjell Invest Ltd. and was given the right to exercise Odfjell's option with Keppel FELS. Like the three jackups, this new rig will be of the KFELS B Class design. It is capable of operating in water depths of up to 400 feet, drilling depth of 30,000 feet and accommodating 112 men. Work on SeaDrill's first three rigs is progressing well at Keppel FELS yard.

SeaDrill to Build Jack-Up Rig with Keppel FELS

SeaDrill Limited has declared its option to build a fourth jack-up rig with Keppel FELS Ltd in Singapore. The rig will be of the KFELS B Class design, capable of operating in water depths of up to 400 feet and drilling depth of 30,000 feet. The contract price for the unit is US $132 million and is composed of a basis price of $117M, plus additional upgrades on the specification of USD 15 million in order to make the unit to a sister rig of SeaDrill 1 (Hull B-277) presently under construction by the same yard. The delivery of the rig is expected to take place in the second quarter 2008. This order was secured via an option given to Odfjell Partners Ltd (Odfjell) when it ordered its first rig in March 2004. Odfjell placed an order for its second rig in March 2005.

Nautronix Secures Order from Keppel FELS

According to reports, International Positioning and Undersea Systems Technology Company this week landed a second major order with a Far East rig builder. Nautronix secured a multi million dollar order from Keppel FELS Ltd for the supply of systems for an ultra-deepwater semisubmersible drilling rig. The vessel is under construction for ENSCO International Incorporated and it will be the second to bear Nautronix equipment - the company secured a contract for the ENSCO 8500 at the end of 2005. The latest order is for the ENSCO 8501, which is scheduled for completion by the second quarter of 2009 for mobilization to the Gulf of Mexico.

Nautronix secured a multi million-dollar order from Keppel FELS Ltd for the supply of systems for an ultra-deepwater semisubmersible drilling rig. The vessel is under construction for ENSCO International Incorporated and it will be the second to bear Nautronix equipment - the company secured a contract for the ENSCO 8500 at the end of 2005. The latest order is for the ENSCO 8501, which is scheduled for completion by the second quarter of 2009 for mobilization to the Gulf of Mexico. The scope of supply includes Nautronix NMS6000 multi-station Class 2 Dynamic Positioning (DP) System, thruster controls, a vessel management system and associated environmental and position reference sensors.

Keppel Wins $270M Contract from GlobalSantaFe

Keppel FELS Ltd (Keppel FELS) has secured a contract with GlobalSantaFe Corporation (GSF) to build an ultra-deepwater drilling rig for $270 million. Under the contract agreement, GSF will supply the drilling and sub-sea equipment while Keppel FELS provides the design, engineering and construction of the hull as well as the accommodation quarters for 180 men and marine equipment. The rig, to be named the GSF Development Driller III, is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2009. GSF has chosen to build the state-of-the-art semisubmersible (semi) to the proprietary design, DSS-51, jointly designed and developed by Keppel’s Deepwater Technology Group (DTG) and Marine Structure Consultants (MSC).
