Maju 510 Tug: Singapore's First Autonomous Vessel Project Complete

Singapore's Keppel Offshore & Marine said Thursday it had completed work on the Maju 510 tug, its first autonomous vessel project."Capable of autonomous vessel navigation as well as collision detection and avoidance (CDCA), the Maju 510 tug, owned and operated by Keppel Smit Towage, is the first vessel in the world to receive the Autonomous Notation from ABS classification society," Keppel O&M said.According to Keppel O&M, the tug is the first in South Asia that can be remotely operated by joystick control.

Keppel O&M, EMA Launch Call for Smart Solutions in Offshore Sector

Singapore-based offshore rig builder Keppel Offshore & Marine has partnered up with Energy Market Authority (EMA) to develop energy solutions in the areas of distributed energy resources, digitalization and emerging low carbon alternatives.As part of the $10 million partnership, EMA and Keppel O&M are launching a grant call for solutions relating to energy storage systems and smart power grids for the offshore and marine environment. "These solutions should seek to reduce overall energy usage and carbon footprint while enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Singapore Launches Autonomous Tug Project

Singapore yard Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) said that its wholly-owned subsidiary Keppel Singmarine will develop an autonomous tug that will be operated by Keppel Smit Towage.The tug is expected to be one of Singapore’s first autonomous vessels when the project is completed in 4Q 2020.To develop the autonomous tug, Keppel O&M has secured a grant of up to S$2 million from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) under its Maritime Innovation and Technology Fund (MINT FUND).This follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Keppel O&M, MPA and the Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine, Singapore (TCOMS) in April 2018 to jointly develop autonomous vessels for a variety of applications including undertaking harbour operations such as channelling…

Keppel Wins FPSO, FSRU Contracts

Keppel O&M to Pay US$422m to Resolve Petrobras Issue

Keppel Corporation Limited (Keppel Corporation or Keppel) today confirmed that KOM has reached a global resolution with criminal authorities in the United States, Brazil and Singapore in relation to corrupt payments made by KOM's former agent in Brazil,  Zwi Skornicki. As part of the global resolution, KOM has accepted a conditional warning from the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) in Singapore, and entered into a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), while Keppel FELS Brasil, a wholly-owned subsidiary of KOM, has reached a Leniency Agreement with the Public Prosecutor's Office in Brazil, the Ministério Público Federal (MPF).

BrasFELS Delivers Fifth FPSO Project for MODEC

Keppel Offshore & Marine's (Keppel O&M) wholly owned subsidiary Keppel FELS Brasil's BrasFELS shipyard in Brazil has delivered the Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV29, a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, to repeat customer MODEC Offshore Production Systems (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., an EPCI arm of the MODEC, Inc. group (MODEC). The FPSO was completed safely, on time and within budget, and departed the shipyard recently for the Bananal Bay in Brazil. NParks, Keppel in S$2.08 mln Partnership for Restoring Singapore Forest Wetlands

The National Parks Board (NParks) and Keppel Corporation today unveiled plans for a partnership to restore the freshwater forest wetland ecosystem historically found in the vicinity of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Located in the upcoming Learning Forest extension, the restored 1.8 hectare forest wetland will enhance the biodiversity found there, and for the very first time, provide educational opportunities for the public to access and experience a freshwater forest wetland habitat, right in the heart of the city. Keppel Corporation has committed S$2.08 million to the Garden City Fund (GCF) to support the forest wetland restoration efforts. In recognition of Keppel Corporation's contribution, the restored freshwater forest wetland will be named the Keppel Discovery Wetlands.

Keppel plans to consolidate its interests in business trust, REIT and fund management under Keppel Capital and grow its asset management business. Keppel Makes a Clean Sweep at WSH Awards

Keppel Group has clinched 35 awards at this year's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Awards, organised by the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC) and Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore. It is the highest number of awards won by a single organisation this year. Of the 35 awards, Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) bagged 31 awards under the Safety and Health Award Recognition for Projects (SHARP) category for its exemplary safety performance as well as good safety and health management systems. Keppel Shipyard also clinched the WSH Innovation Award with the Coupler Repair Workbench. The winning project team developed a jig to help to lock the coupler in place, thus reducing physical contact that workers have with the coupler and impact wrench, thereby minimising risks of injury.

Keppel's Independent Director Leong-Chee to retire

Keppel Corporation Limited (Keppel Corporation) announced that Mr Tony Chew Leong-Chee, Non-Executive and Independent Director, will be retiring from the Board of Directors of Keppel Corporation on 1 May 2015. Mr Chew will concurrently cease to be Chairman of the Nominating Committee and member of the Audit Committee. Dr Lee Boon Yang, Chairman of Keppel Corporation said, "On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Tony for his contributions during his 13 years of distinguished service. The Keppel Group has benefited from his extensive business experience, wisdom and entrepreneurial spirit. Keppel Infrastructure Sheds Facilities Arm

Keppel Infrastructure Holdings Pte Ltd (KI), through its wholly-owned subsidiary, has signed an agreement for the sale of its entire stake in Keppel FMO (KFMO) to Cofely GDF SUEZ for a cash consideration of S$44.72 million, subject to a post-closing adjustment for working capital and a deferred consideration amount of up to S$9.72 million. KFMO provides integrated facilities management services for clients across various industries and business segments in both the public and private sectors. The purchaser, Cofely South East Asia Pte. Ltd. is a subsidiary of the GDF SUEZ Group. Cofely GDF SUEZ is one of Europe's leading facilities managers, involved in the design, implementation and delivery of integrated facilities management solutions.

Keppel's Senior Executive Director to Retire

Keppel Corporation Limited announced that Teo Soon Hoe, Senior Executive Director, Keppel Corporation will retire June 1, 2014. Teo will step down as Chairman of Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation Ltd (Keppel T&T) and non-independent director of Keppel Infrastructure Fund Management Pte Ltd (KIFM), Trustee Manager of Keppel Infrastructure Trust, with effect from the same date. Teo will continue to represent Keppel Corporation as its nominee director on the boards of Tianjin Eco-city companies, and k1 Ventures Limited. Further, Keppel Land Limited (Keppel Land) and Keppel T&T have appointed him as Senior Advisor to their respective boards and he will also continue to represent Keppel T&T as its nominee director on the board of M1 Limited.

Keppel Corporation will partner Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay to relaunch its Keppel Nights programme, supporting the centre's efforts to cultivate lifelong arts engagement among the young. Keppel has committed $360,000 over two years to Esplanade in support of the program. Keppel Nights, launched by Keppel Corporation in 2008, was a first-of-its-kind sustained ticket subsidy programme to nurture an audience for the arts. It benefited over 15,000 arts goers and supported over 200 shows.

Keppel Charts The Next Lap Of Growth

The Board and Management of Keppel Corporation Limited (Keppel Corp) has announced  the Group's holistic succession plan in charting its next lap of growth. On 1 January 2014, Mr Choo Chiau Beng, 65, CEO of Keppel Corp, will be succeeded by CFO Mr Loh Chin Hua. New Appointments at Keppel Strengthen Growth

The Board and Management of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) wish to announce several new appointments as part of ongoing efforts to put in place a strong leadership team to continually reinforce the Group's growth strategy. Mr Michael Chia, 59, has been appointed Managing Director (Marine) of Keppel O&M and will oversee Keppel O&M's Marine Division which includes Keppel Shipyard, Keppel Singmarine and other marine-related overseas yards. Mr Chia will concurrently hold his appointments as Managing Director (Technology) of Keppel O&M and Managing Director of Keppel O&M Technology Centre. Keppel Corporation launch Keppel Care Foundation Limited to help the needy & under-privileged, promote education & encourage eco-friendly initiatives. The Keppel Group of Companies (Keppel) will commit up to S$50 million over the next ten years to the Foundation. Provide relief from human suffering and improve the standard of human life by the prevention, combating and treatment of sickness and disease. Former President of the Republic of Singapore, Mr S R Nathan, launched the Keppel Care Foundation today at a fundraising concert to celebrate Keppel Offshore & Marine's 10th anniversary. Keppel FELS to Build $205m Jackup Rig

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) will build a third KFELS B Class jackup drilling rig worth about US$205 million for PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Corp’s (PV Drilling) subsidiary PetroVietnam Drilling Investment Corp (PVD Invest). The agreement is subject to conditions being met by March 14. This latest unit and PVD Invest’s second rig PV Drilling II, which is already under construction at Keppel FELS, are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2009 respectively.

Keppel FELS Completes Singaporean Project

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), has completed the construction of its second jackup drilling rig for Gulf Drilling International Ltd (GDI), a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Japan Drilling Co., Ltd. (JDC). At a ceremony on 26 January 2008, the rig was named Al-Zubarah, after one of Qatar’s very important economic centres, by Mr Mohammad Al-Shirrawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GDI. Built to Keppel’s proprietary KFELS B Class design, the rig has been customised to GDI’s requirements for drilling in the Arabian Gulf. Al-Zubarah is capable of operating in water depths of up to 300 feet, drilling 30,000 feet deep and accommodating up to 110 men.

Keppel To Restructure KHZ Under Keppel FELS

Keppel Corporation Limited (KCL) will restructure Keppel Hitachi Zosen Limited (KHZ) under Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), the rig building and repair arm of Keppel FELS Energy and Infrastructure (KFEI), to create a global leader in servicing the international marine and offshore market. KCL will transfer its entire 61% interest in KHZ to Keppel FELS immediately upon completion of the privatization of Keppel FELS Energy & Infrastructure Ltd (KFEI) in early to mid November this year. Keppel Converts Tanker into FPSO

Keppel Shipyard, a division of Keppel Group, has successfully converted a 155,000dwt tanker into a Floating Production Storage and Offloading Vessel (FPSO) for ProSafe. The vessel, previously known as White Sea, was named Espoir Ivoirien by Mrs Agnes Monnet, wife of the Minister of Mines and Energy, Côte d’Ivoire, at a ceremony at Keppel Shipyard this afternoon. The conversion of Espoir Ivoirien, included the construction and installation of an internal turret and the installation and integration of the complete topside equipment package. Preparatory work for the conversion began in Subic Shipyard which carried out surface treatment, repair, blasting and painting.
