Qatargas Operating Company Limited delivered the first cargo of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) on a Q-Max vessel to Zeebrugge LNG Terminal in Belgium, marking the first discharge of a Q-Max LNG vessel at this terminal.The world's largest liquefied natural gas company announced in a media release that the cargo, which was loaded at the Ras Laffan terminal in Qatar on 22nd June 2019, arrived on board the Q-Max vessel, 'Al Dafna' on 22nd July 2019.The delivery also celebrates yet another multi-terminal delivery for Qatargas bringing the total number of multi-port deliveries undertaken by the Company in 2019 to eight deliveries, it said."This operation saw the first LNG parcel discharged in Zeebrugge and a second parcel at the South Hook LNG terminal in the United Kingdom…

The world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas) has delivered the first LNG cargo onboard a Q-Flex vessel to Greece’s Revithoussa LNG terminal.Doha-based global energy operator said in a press release that  this is for the first time that a Q-Flex LNG vessel has called at the terminal ever since it underwent an expansion drive late last year.The cargo, which was loaded at the Ras Laffan Terminal in Qatar on 3rd July 2019, arrived at the Revithoussa Terminal on board the Q-Flex vessel, 'Al Gharrafa', on 20th July 2019.The Q-Flex cargo is part of yet another multi-port delivery executed by Qatargas.

Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Qatargas has set another milestone as it successfully delivered the 3,000th LNG cargo to Japan.The cargo was transported onboard Al Jasra, a conventional LNG vessel with a capacity of 135,000 cubic meters. The cargo was delivered to the Kawagoe LNG Receiving Terminal, owned and operated by JERA. Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas) and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore collaborative efforts in the LNG business. Under the terms of the MoU, the parties will jointly identify and evaluate best practices in the LNG industry, particularly in the sharing of knowledge and expertise inprocurement of LNG, LNG transportation, and floating storage and regasification units (FSRU). In addition, the MoU includes a scope for the possible supply of LNG to the Kingdom of Thailand. The integration of RasGas with Qatargas will enable the world’s largest LNG exporter to save QR2bn ($550 million) a year, Qatar Petroleum (QP), the state-owned energy giant, announced. Qatargas, the world's largest LNG producer, announced the commercial start-up of Laffan Refinery 2, marking a major milestone in the expansion of refining capacity in the State of Qatar. The project will refine 146,000 barrels per day of condensate from the North Field, the largest non-associated natural gas reserve in the world. Qatargas, United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) and Shell signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the development of LNG as a marine fuel in the Middle East region. This is the second such agreement signed by Qatargas and Shell in as many months and establishes another core partnership within the shipping industry. The MoU was signed by Qatargas chief executive Khalid bin Khalifa al-Thani, UASC chief executive Jorn Hinge and Qatar Shell Companies managing director and chairman Michiel Kool. The partners will continue to work diligently to develop and supply LNG as marine fuel for the merchant fleet before the end of the current decade.

Qatargas and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) have signed a deal to supply half a million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Kuwait over the next four years, according to a report. The LNG will be sourced from Qatargas 2, a joint venture among Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Total which started production in 2009, and will be delivered onboard Q-Flex LNG Vessels, chartered by Qatargas, to KPC’s Mina al-Ahmadi LNG receiving terminal in Kuwait. Qatargas has supplied Kuwait with most of its LNG requirements for the last five years, through direct sales to KPC and through third parties that have deals with Qatargas and with KPC. Elsewhere in the Middle East, Qatargas has supplied LNG to Dubai since 2008 and delivered a commissioning cargo to Jordan in May last year.

Three heavy weights have come together in the Middle East to promote LNG as marine fuel in the region - Qatargas, the Maersk Group and Royal Dutch Shell Plc signing a memorandum of understanding to explore future opportunities. All three have pledged to look at ways to develop new markets for using LNG as propulsion fuel. Qatargas sold its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Jovo LNG Storage and Transportation Co., Ltd. (“JOVO”), an independent LNG importer from the People’s Republic of China. The 64,000 cubic meter cargo was sold on a free-on-board basis and loaded on to the vessel LNG Lerici at Ras Laffan port on 22 October pursuant to the FOB Master Sale and Purchase Agreement signed by the parties earlier this summer. The cargo will be delivered to JOVO’s LNG terminal located in Lisha Island, Dongguan in the Guangdong province. This represents the first deal of its kind concluded by Qatargas with an independent and privately owned LNG importer in the People’s Republic of China where until today Qatargas has only supplied LNG to Chinese state-owned national oil and gas companies.

According to a report from Gulf Times, Qatargas is willing to extend support to Japanese LNG buyers and people after the massive earthquake and tsunami, Qatargas CEO Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa al-Thani said.
