U.S. LNG Exports Dip in October

U.S. exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in October remained capped by plant outages, with producers shifting more cargoes to Asian buyers last month, according to Refinitiv Eikon tanker monitoring data, after of a pipeline leak cut supplies from Malaysia. LNG prices recently have cooled with Europe's gas storage levels rising to over 90% of target capacity and a slow start to winter. In Asia, however, a declaration of force majeure on gas supplies by Malaysian state-energy company Petronas PETR.KL  has LNG customers in Japan scrambling for alternative cargoes.

K Line Offshore Sells 15-year-old PSV

The offshore support vessel provider for the global oil and gas industry, K Line Offshore has sold one of its platform supply vessels (PSV) to Gard Supply AS.The Norway-based offshore division of Japan's K Line said that the the 2004-built PSV KL Arendalfjord is its very first ship."A Protocol of Delivery and Acceptance was signed and KL Arendalfjord was delivered by K Line Offshore AS(KOAS) to Gard Supply AS in Tønsberg, Norway," said the press release from the shipowning and operating company with high end PSVs and two of the world's most powerful AHTS. KL Arendalfjord was delivered from Vard, Brevik in 2004 and acquired through a long term bareboatcharter by KOAS in 2009.The vessel is the UT755L-type with deck area of 680m2.

Rotech Subsea Bags Bangladesh Seabed Job

UK-based provider of mass flow excavation services Rotech Subsea Ltd. has announced that it has signed an agreement to undertake a major seabed preparation scope for United Arab Emirates-based ULO Systems.The preparatory work will precede the installation of 12,000 concrete mattresses designed to minimize erosion by protecting a river bank on-site at a nuclear plant in rural Bangladesh.Rotech Subsea recently mobilised its state-of-the-art TRS2 Controlled Flow Excavation (CFE) tool from Rotech Asiaā€™s Kuala Lumpur base with the work to be completed during Q1, 2019. New EAL Grease for ATB Couplings

Specialty lubricants manufacturer KlĻ‹ber Lubrication recently introduced a new environmentally acceptable lubricant (EAL) grease for articulated tug and barge (ATB) couplings, Klüberbio AM 12-501.Klüberbio AM 12-501 is an adhesive EAL grease designed specifically for the large plain bearings, rams and connectors used in ATB coupling systems. It is based on fully synthetic ester oils for high performance and biodegradability, aluminum complex thickener for adhesion and resistance to water and select additives to reduce wear.Klüberbio AM 12-501 meets ATB coupling system OEM specifications for pumpability, resistance to water washout and spray off, corrosion protection and load carrying capabilities.

KL Sandefjord Receives DNV GL's 'Shore Power' Notation

The offshore vessel KL Sandefjord owned by K Line Offshore AS, a 100 percent subsidiary of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd (ā€œKā€ Line), is the first offshore vessel with the DNV GL class notation ā€œShore powerā€. Essar's Terminal at Kandla Port crosses 100 mi tonne throughput

The marine terminal of Vadinar Oil Terminal Ltd (VOTL), which is part of Essar Ports Ltd, has been the best performing terminal in the Kandla Port Trust (KPT) for two consecutive years. The terminal recently received a certificate of appreciation from KPT, which crossed 100 million tonnes of cargo throughput for the first time in FY 2015-16. VOTL is an integrated oil terminal located in Vadinar, Gujarat with 58 million tonnes capacity and handles crude oil and petroleum products. The facilities consist of an offshore SPM (Single Point Mooring), two jetties, 3.12 Million KL tankages for storage, and rail and road gantries for dispatch of petroleum products.

Tokyo Gas Completes Hitachi LNG Terminal

Japanā€™s Tokyo Gas has completed construction of its Hitachi LNG terminal in Hitachi Port area marking the start of operations. The LNG terminal is equipped with a 230,000-kilolitre LNG tank that can hold about 100,000-110,000 tons of chilled gas. The Hitachi terminal has already received three cargoes this year, one from Malaysia's Bintulu and two from Russia's Sakhalin, says sources. Hitachi terminal is companyā€™s first LNG terminal, located outside Tokyo Bay. By completing Ibaraki-Tochigi line, Tokyo Gas now owns 950km of high pressure pipeline network mainly around Tokyo metropolitan area. Tokyo Gas also said that it plans to build a new LNG tank at the Sodegaura LNG terminal on Tokyo Bay.

Subsea 7 to Exit Singapore for Kuala Lumpur

Rising costs of doing business in Singapore has forced Subsea7 to switch its regional headquarters from the city to Kuala Lumpur (KL), says a report in Business Times. Against a backdrop of persistently low oil prices, fresh concerns have emerged over Singapore's competitiveness as an offshore and marine (O&M) hub, following a decision made by a fourth top-tier international subsea contractor to ship out most of its operations to KL. The Oslo and Nasdaq-listed Subsea 7 will offer only a handful of its staff in Singapore relocation options to Kuala Lumpur. The move will see about two thirds of the 90-strong staff in Singapore made redundant. The switiching office is expected to complet by the third quarter of 2016.

Mitsubishi to Build Diesel Oil Import Terminal in Australia

Japanese trading house Mitsubishi Corp said it is entering Australia's diesel market by building a $103 million gas oil import terminal to tap growing demand and as a closure of several refineries has squeezed domestic supply of the fuel. Mitsubishi's move comes as Australia is turning into a playground for global oil traders, who are snapping up storage tanks and terminals as they bet on it becoming Asia's top importer of oil products, with demand rising and old, inefficient refineries closing. "The terminal will be the foundation for Mitsubishi to launch a diesel fuel import, sales and distribution business in Australia which it expects to show robust growth on the back of increasing demand in energy, resource, transport and industrial sectors," it said in a statement on Tuesday.

Based on ester oil and selected additives, the grease complies with the requirements for environmentally acceptable lubricants (EALs) as defined in Appendix A of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencyā€™s 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP). Klüberbio AG 39-602 contains more than 60 percent of renewable raw materials, resulting in reduced environmental impact in the event of discharge into water.

BOS Provides 2-5% Fuel Savings

Aegis Logistics commissioned ahead of schedule

Aegis Group, a Leader in Oil, Gas and Chemical Logistics, announced successful early commissioning of the 70,120 KL Bulk Liquid Terminal at Pipavav port on West coast of India. The Pipavav - Phase I expansion was initiated in February 2013 to set up Bulk Liquid Terminal of 1,20,000 KL & 2,700 MT of Gas Terminal & was targeted to commission in H2 FY2015. However, the best efforts of in-house project team resulted in advancement of project by six months. Over 50% Liquid Facilities has now been commissioned with 13 additional tanks operational with a storage capacity totaling to 70,120 KL. Phase I of capacity expansion at Pipavav is a greenfield project to set up Bulk Liquid Terminal with 31 tanks aggregating to the storage capacity of 1ā€¦
