Rosneft Starts Far East LSFO Bunkering

RN Bunker, the bunkering subsidiary of Russia's Rosneft Oil Company, said it has begun to refuel ships with 0.5% sulfur limit marine fuel at the Far East region.The RMLS 40, a marine fuel that has advanced environmental properties, is in full compliance with the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL).The first 200 tons of the new fuel was supplied to a bulk carrier in Nakhodka waters. Low-sulfur fuel is also used by the ships operating in Bolshoy Kamen Bay that do the work for construction of Zvezda Shipyard.This environmentally friendly marine fuel for the Far East is produced by Rosneft Komsomolsk Refinery in Khabarovsk Krai.

Gazprom 95% Completes TurkStream Gas Pipeline's Offshore Section

Russian oil and gas giant Gazprom is progressing a number of gas pipeline  stretching across the Black Sea projects with three major projects already 95.5 percent complete, the company claimed.The TurkStream will soon see the completion of its offshore section, bringing closer a consistent the supply of Russian gas to Turkey and its neighbours."The Company continues to pursue the extensive Eastern Gas Program and to build facilities associated with supplying gas to domestic consumers and to China. In particular, 127 producing gas wells were drilled at the Chayandinskoye field, the linchpin of the Yakutia gas production center. Zvezda Delivers Nuke-Sub to Russian Navy

Zvezda shipyard (Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center) held a solemn ceremony dedicated to Submariner’s Day and to the end of overhaul of nuclear-powered cruiser Kuzbass, says press center of Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center. CEO of Zvezda shipyard Yuri Filchenok and Acting Armaments Commander, Pacific Fleet, Rear Admiral Igor Korolev, signed the acceptance/delivery papers at the pier during the ceremony. The Project 971 submarine was laid down July 28, 1991 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and launched May 18, 1992. The Kuzbass entered service with the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet on February 5, 1993 and operated in the Pacific and the Arctic.

Achinsk Refinery Resumes Operation on Tight Schedule

Achinsk Oil refinery, suspended after the incident of June 15, 2014 has recovered the processes of primary crude oil processing on a tight schedule, according to the plan of repair activities. From the 1st of September the enterprise has commenced production of the main types of oil products: straight-run gasoline, diesel fuel, marine fuel and aviation fuel, as well as WLHF (wide light hydrocarbon fraction). Concurrently with the primary crude processing plant a VT-Bitumen unit, producing petroleum bitumen, resumed to operating. Achinsk refinery is planned to produce more than 400 thousand tons of finished product, which makes more than 70% of prefault performance. The production volume will be increased in months to come.

GL Receives Russian Flag Authorization

The Russian Maritime Authority has authorized classification society Germanischer Lloyd (GL) to perform statutory duties on ships with Russian flag. Germanischer Lloyd is the very first foreign society to be granted this right. Russian shipowners can now choose GL as their recognized organization, and thus profit from the society's longtime expertise in the maritime industry.

Russian Plant Commissions Deep Probe Seismic Ship

A Russian shipbuilding plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur has commissioned a deep probe seismic ship built on the order of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). The ship intended for oil and gas prospecting at the depth of around 4,000 meters was built within two years as stipulated in the Indian contract, officials of the Amur Shipbuilding Plant indicated. The giant ship -- 94 meters long and 19 meters wide -- has been built in accordance with the international standards, they said. The ship will be sent to the Maritime territory where it will be given a few finishing touches at a terminal constructing base. After tests, the Russian ship builders are planning to turn over the ship to the Indian customers by the year's end. [Source: http://www.hindu.com]

Russia Will Consolidate its Shipbuilding Industry

Russia's shipbuilding industry has launched a sweeping modernization program. President Vladimir Putin has signed decrees setting up a United Shipbuilding Corporation (known by its Russian initials, OSK) to consolidate large federal companies engaged in shipbuilding. Within the next few months, three regional subholdings will be formed. One of them - the Western Center - will unite shipbuilding companies in St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad. The Northern Center will take care of all Severodvinsk plants in the Arkhangelsk Region, and the Far Eastern Center will bring together companies located in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Vladivostok and Nakhodka.
