Kongsberg Completes 10,000th AutoChief Propulsion Control System FAT

The 10,000th Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for Kongsberg Maritime’s AutoChief propulsion control system took place at Kongsberg Maritime Korea in Busan on Friday, April 27. The AutoChief 600 system tested will be installed on a new LEG carrier featuring a 2-stroke MAN B&W engine being built at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (Hull 8258), for owner Solvang ASA. DSME, Kongsberg Maritime Join Forces

DSME and Kongsberg Maritime have signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) for a new LNG FSRU regasification control system. As part of the delivery scope for a vessel currently under construction at the Okpo shipyard in South Korea, DSME will develop a High Fidelity Dynamic Simulator for the regasification plant. The JDA, which was signed on 29th November 2016, enables DSME to utilise Kongsberg Maritime’s Dynamic Process Simulator ‘K-Spice’ and the ‘K-Chief’ automation and control system for the joint development of the vessel’s regasification control system. Both parties have extensive experience in the field of LNG vessel control systems. DSME is fast approaching delivery of 100 LNG ships, many of them operating with Kongsberg Maritime’s LNG control system on board.

Kongsberg Maritime: AutoChief C20 Propulsion Control System Hits 3000 Deliveries

Kongsberg Maritime is delighted to announce Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) number 3000 for its highly regarded propulsion control system, AutoChief C20. The FAT took place March 8th 2011 at Kongsberg Maritime Korea's facility in Busan, South Korea, with representatives from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and a Lloyd's Register surveyor present. Following the successful FAT, the system will be delivered to Hyundai Heavy Industry Engine Maker Division, for use on a large 2-stroke engine aboard HHI new building no. H2180, for shipowner Seaspan.

Kongsberg Opens in Korea

Kongsberg Maritime Korea (KMK), a wholly owned subsidiary of leading international marine electronics manufacturer Kongsberg Maritime has officially opened the doors of its purpose built new headquarters in Jungkwan, northeast of Busan, South Korea. The official opening ceremony took place on December 5, 2007 and was attended by customers and Kongsberg Maritime management in addition to a number of local dignitaries. Starting out with a reception, the building was then officially opened by President of KMK, Mr. Steinar Gran. Speeches by prominent guests followed, such as Norway's Ambassador to Korea, Mr. Didrik Tønseth and the Mayor of Busan, Mr. Nam-Sik Hur.

Quatergas Newbuilds Employ Kongsberg K-Bridge Consoles

Kongsberg Maritime has delivered the first K-Bridge consoles in its contract to supply Bridge, Cargo, Integrated Automation Systems and Integrated Navigation Systems to four vessels in production at Samsung and Hyundai for the OSG/QGII expansion project. The K-Bridge navigation system consists of a complete range of consoles, including K-rudder angle system and steering control systems. Other equipment within the integrated navigation system includes Speed log, Echo Sounder, GMDSS and chart system, in addition to standalone X-band Radar. Kongsberg Maritime Korea completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the K-Bridge system on 11th May 2006.
