Shipyard Gebr. Kooiman BV in Zwijndrecht successfully started with the production of an in-house developed Kooiman Stern Tube Aft Seal several years ago. Kooiman now has obtained Bureau Veritas Type Approval of her Stern Tube Aft Seal.Compact, simple, robust and effective. Damen’s RSD Tug 2513 Nominated for KNVTS Award
Damen’s radical new ‘always bow first’ RSD Tug 2513 has reached the final stage of this year’s prestigious Maritime Award KNVTS Ship of the Year prize. As one of the last three entrants in contention for the award, the Damen RSD Tug 2513 will be judged on a range of criteria including its design, safety, economy, durability and construction process, and the winner will be announced at the Gala Dinner taking place on November 12th.The 25-meter RSD Tug 2513 is the result of years of research and development by Damen in cooperation with its towage customers and research institute partners.
Kooiman, Group de Cloedt Deliver Trailer Suction Hopper Dredger
On June 30, 2018, a trailer suction hopper dredger DC Brugge was delivered to Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman B.V. in Zwijndrecht. DC Brugge is the result of close cooperation between Group de Cloedt and Kooiman Marine Group. With the DC Brugge, Group de Cloedt is updating its fleet of dredgers. The vessel, with a hopper volume of 2,450 m3, replaces the 43-year-old Interballast 1 (1,680 m3) and will be deployed in the granulate dredger fleet of Group De Cloedt. The sailing area will mainly be the Western Scheldt and the Belgian and Dutch coasts.
Kooiman to Repair MTS Julius Rütgers
Eiltank Schiffart GmbH & Co KG has placed the order for the repair of the inland waterway tanker vessel Julius Rütgers Shipyard with the shipyard Gerb. Kooiman B.V. Zwijndrecht, The Netherlands. MTS Julius Rütgers was seriously damaged after the explosion of some cargo tanks. The midship area is heavily deformed and two cargo tanks exploded. Kooiman to Widen Mussel Dredger
Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman BV informs it has received a contract to widen a mussel dredger by 60cm on both sides. The vessel, NOR 204 Andrea Norddeich was built in 1977 by Schifs- & Bootswerft Lübbe Voss, Westerende-Kirchlog. Prior to the widening, the ship’s dimensions were 34,2m x 6m , having a draft of 1,86m and she measured 118GT/191 DWT. The vessel is owned by shipping company Christoffers in Norden-Norddeich, Duitsland. The widening of the ship with 2 x 60cm will be performed over the entire length of the vessel.
Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger Drydocked at Kooiman
The 6,000-cubic-meter trailing suction hopper dredger Reimerswaal was moored for regular maintenance at the end of December 2015, alongside the jetty of Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman BV in Zwijndrecht. The Reimerswaal, having an overall length over of 130.25 meters and a (molded) width of 22 meters, was built in 2012 by Kooiman for Reimerswaal Dredging / Den Herder. Among others, Kooiman carried out maintenance works on the dredge- and dry unloading installations. Several components exposed to heavy wear and tear have been repaired or replaced.
Kooiman to Build Workboat for HvSDS
Shipyard Kooiman BV in Zwijndrecht has been contracted to supply a new multipurpose DP2 support vessel to customer HvS Dredging Support BV in Harlingen, the shipbuilder announced. According to Kooiman, close cooperation with HvSDS has led to “a number of important creative solutions” for development and implementation aboard the new vessel, Zwerver II. The ship is equipped with DP2, four-point mooring, crane of 510 Tm with an active heave compensated winch, a conventional crane of 370 Tm.
Kooiman BV Contracts for Survey, Life-Extension of SWATH
The Dutch Pilotage Service contracted with Kooiman BV for a major maintenance survey and life-extension of its SWATH vessel Cetus en Persues. The SWATH, a catamaran vessel measuring 25.7 x 14.3 x 2.7m was built in 2005. Combined with regular special survey, Shipyard Kooiman is providing refit services to extend the life of the vessel, with a net total increase in propulsion power. Additional modifications include electrical, cooling water systems, interior and accommodations. These vessels have accommodations for a three-person crew and 12 passengers.
Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman Secures Dredger Conversion Contract
Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman BV, a subsidiary of The Kooiman Group (www.thekooimangroup.com), has signed a contract to complete a conversion project for the sea going dredger Ostsee. The Ostsee is a trailing suction hopper dredger and member of the fleet of Maritime Construction Services SA of Luxembourg. It was built by the Peene-Werft in 1995. The conversion involves the replacement of the electrical drives of the dredging installation by direct diesel drives. Two jet water pumps with electric motors will be replaced by two new Nijhuis pumps with a higher working pressure.
