BP has reserved Yinson's Nganhurra floating, production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for use on its proposed 10-well subsea Palas, Astrea and Juno oil fields (PAJ Project), on Block 31, offshore Angola.Under an agreement signed between BP and Yinson, Yinson will exclusively allocate FPSO Nganhurra to BP for the PAJ Project until 31 December 2022, with an extension option until 30 June 2023, while contract negotiations to convert, operate, maintain and lease the FPSO for the PAJ project are done. The lease and operate contract is anticipated to include a 10-year fixed term.

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad Offshore has sold another non-core vessel as part of its plan to trim its fleet and make it more competitive.It said Thursday it had sold the AHTS Sea Ocelot to an unnamed buyer. The 70 meters long vessel, built in 2007, was sold through Solstad's subsidiary Deep Sea Supply Labuan II."Delivery of the vessel to the new owner took place today September 9th, 2021. The sale of the vessel will result in an immaterial accounting effect for Q3 -2021," Solstad offshore said, without sharing the sale price.

Converted very large ore carriers (VLOC) are increasingly becoming a thing of the past with the long-term freight contracts coming to an end as newer and more reliable ships replace them in the market. A boat carrying 31 people, including 28 Chinese tourists, is missing off the coast of Borneo, Malaysian maritime authorities said on Sunday. The boat left Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Malaysia's eastern Sabah state, at about 9 a.m. (0100 GMT) on Saturday bound for the popular tourist spot of Mengalum island, officials said. It was reported missing at about 9.50 p.m. after failing to arrive at the island and a search operation was launched soon after, Sabah and Labuan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) deputy director Rahim Ramli said. Bad weather was hampering the search effort, which covers an area of about 400 nautical square miles. "We are looking at strong winds and choppy waters," he said.

"Where do we go next? It's a good question, because we are trying to explore some other areas also," said Kanen Senasendram, base manager at Ocean Shipcare, which operates in Brunei Bay. He says he may need to hire more staff.

Pirates attacked A Malaysian-registered oil tanker off the coast of West Kalimantan (Indonesia) and robbed its crew of valuables on Thursday night. Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) district operations director Commander Shahref Steve Mac Queen Abdullah said the tanker, MT Dongfang, was travelling from Port Dickson to Labuan when the incident happened around 8.30pm in Indonesian waters. "The ship's 17 member crews were not harmed during the incident," said Kuching district operations director Commander Steve MacQueen Abdullah. “The MMEA was informed by the International Maritime Bureau about the robbery, which occurred about 52 nautical miles north of Pulau Uwi in Indonesia.
