USCG Interdicts Lancha Crews Illegally Fishing US Waters

Multiple Coast Guard law enforcement crews detected and interdicted three Mexican lancha boat crews engaged in illegal fishing in federal waters off the coast of southern Texas Monday.Coast Guard crews consisting of air support, a small boat crew, and a cutter stopped three lanchas approximately 50 miles north of the Maritime Boundary Line where a total of thirteen lanchamen were engaged in illegal fishing. USCG Issues Boating Under Influence Citation in Massachusetts Bay

Coast Guard law enforcement crews issued a boating under the influence citation to the operator of a vessel late Sunday night in Massachusetts Bay. Watchstanders at Station Point Allerton received notification of a 12-foot Boston Whaler that was adrift and disabled off of Nantasket Beach, Massachusetts. A crew from Station Point Allerton and the Hull Harbormaster launched to assess the situation. Once on scene the Station's Crew noticed that the operator appeared to be intoxicated. Station Point Allerton took the vessel in side tow and brought it to Hull, Massachusetts where local police were waiting. A field sobriety test was given to the operator which determined that he was intoxicated. The Boarding Officer issued a civil citation to the operator for Boating Under the Influence.

Coast Guard, NJ State Marine Police Form Partnership

Rear Adm. David Pekoske, Commander, First Coast Guard District, Rear Adm. Sally Brice O’Hara, Commander, Fifth Coast Guard District and New Jersey Acting Governor Richard J. Codey will formalize an important maritime security partnership at a signing ceremony to be held Liberty State Park at 2 p.m. Thursday. USCG, Virgina Police Enter Agreement

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Rear Adm. Sally Brice O’Hara, Commander, Fifth Coast Guard District and the Commonwealth of Virginia Governor Mark Warner will formalize an important maritime security partnership at a signing ceremony to be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Renaissance Hotel. The partnership, known as a Memorandum of Agreement, allows Coast Guard law enforcement crews and Virginia Marine Police officers to better work together to ensure the safety and security of Virginia’s waters and waterfront facilities, including those in the Port of Hampton Roads and the National Capitol Region. “We’re working across traditional agency boundaries to make America stronger in the maritime domain,” said Rear Adm. Brice O’Hara.
