Saudi Arabia: IMI, Zamil in Offshore Support Vessel JV

International Maritime Industries (IMI), which describes itself as the largest maritime yard in the MENA region, has signed a Joint Venture Agreement with Zamil Offshore to deliver Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) building and maintenance, repair, and overhaul services (MRO) in Saudi Arabia."The long-term agreement signed with Zamil, one of the Middle East’s largest shipyards and owners, operating a fleet of over 60 diversified vessels in Saudi Arabia, aims to enhance IMI’s localization efforts in the Kingdom and boost its lifecycle support services…

Keppel Offshore & Marine Gets DNV AiP for AssetCare System

Raytheon Anschütz Expands US operations

Raytheon Company announced the launch of its new subsidiary, Raytheon Anschuetz USA LLC, located in San Diego, Calif. According to the company, Raytheon Anschuetz USA LLC aims to reinforce customer care and support for Raytheon Anschütz navigation systems in the United States for commercial ship owners and shipyards as well as government entities, including the Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, Navy and Army. “In January 2012, Raytheon Anschütz returned to the U.S. navigation systems market with the establishment of a San Diego-based regional sales office. Now, we are taking the next step to becoming America’s new center of navigation excellence,” said Frank Christophersen, president of the new subsidiary.

MacGregor Winches for Malaysian Accommodation Barges

MacGregor has secured a winch package contract from Nam Cheong Limited group, a global offshore marine player listed on the Main Board of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited and Malaysia's largest offshore support vessel builder. Eight-point MacGregor mooring systems, with a 150-metric-ton line pull/270-metric-ton brake holding capacity, tugger winches and capstans have been specified for two new 500-men accommodation work barges being built at the yard. An option remains for two more barges. The 123-meter barges are scheduled for delivery in 2016.

Aker Solutions Wins Major Contract in Malaysia

Aker Solutions has been awarded a contract by Murphy Sabah Oil for the delivery of a subsea production system for the Siakap North - Petai deepwater development. Contract value is undisclosed. The scope of work includes 13 subsea trees, eight manifolds, well jumpers, engineering for topside controls and lifecycle support services. The first hardware delivery is scheduled for Q1 2013. Raytheon Anschütz Expands to the U.S.

While the rest of the world is seemingly in contraction mode, and positive forecasts regarding the maritime industry are few and far between, one marine electronics major is in expansion mode, planting the seeds now and perhaps raising the flag for the inevitable rebound to come. Raytheon Anschütz announced last month that it is expanding its presence in the U.S. navigation systems market with the opening of its San Diego, Calif.-based operations in January 2012. Frank Christophersen, US Vice President Sales, was tapped to lead the effort, and in talking with Maritime Reporter he explained.

Raytheon Anschütz expands to USA

Raytheon Anschütz is expanding its presence in the U.S. navigation systems market with the opening of its San Diego, Calif.-based operations in January 2012. The business area will be co-located at Raytheon’s established facility, dedicated to the development and delivery of naval and maritime systems and technology. With the new office, Raytheon Anschütz focuses its capabilities in providing navigation systems and customer support to the U.S. maritime industry. The U.S. office will promote the full portfolio of Raytheon Anschütz’s navigation  components and solutions, including gyro compasses, autopilots and steering controls, radars, ECDIS and complete integrated bridge systems for both, new and retrofit projects.

Global Seatrade to install se@FLEX

Heavy-lift specialist is first customer to sign up for new flat-rate global coverage VSAT service package. Globecomm Systems Inc., a global provider of communications solutions and services, announced today that Global Seatrade, a unit of the Hartman Marine Group, has awarded it a contract for unified maritime communications. Services will be provided by Mach6, a unit of Globecomm Maritime, using its global VSAT platform, which provides automatic roaming between Ku-band satellite beams on a global basis at a flat rate. Lockheed Selected for C4ISR Systems Lifecycle Support Services

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, cost-plus fixed fee contract by the U.S. Navy Space and , (SSC-SD) for C4ISR Systems Lifecycle Support Services. The period of performance is a three-year base period worth up to $59m. Two additional award term periods raise the potential value to $189m. Under this new contract, Lockheed Martin will provide a range of C4ISR System Lifecycle Support Services to the SSC-SD C4ISR Programs office located in . Specific efforts will include logistics planning, configuration management, system integration, system installations, technical documentation, training development, training, 24/7 customer support center, and technical field support.
