Vattenfall Awards Van Oord a 4-Year Offshore Wind Contract
Offshore wind developer Vattenfall has awarded the Dutch-based offshore installation contractor Van Oord a 4-year operations & maintenance (O&M) contract.Working through its MPI Offshore organization, Van Oord will provide jack-up and associated lifting services for main component exchanges across Vattenfallās portfolio of offshore wind farms. Vattenfall, based in Sweden, has 10 offshore wind farms in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK. During the contract period, Vattenfall's offshore portfolio will be extended to 622 turbines with a combined capacity of 2.6 GW.
ALE Completes FPSO Works in Singapore

ALE, OM Heavy Lift to Raise Dundee Offshore Profile
Global heavy lift and transportation specialist ALE has expanded its heavy lifting services by establishing a non-disclosure agreement with the Port of Dundee, which is owned by Forth Ports, and lifting, jacking and storage specialist OM Heavy Lift to provide the full service of port operations.ALE signed the agreement with OM Heavy Lift, a subsidary of OilMac who recently bought ALEās Gottwald MK1500 crane, and the Port of Dundee.ALE will be working alongside OM Heavy Lift, with the use of their heavy crane, and the port, who currently work with offshore wind and decommisioning clients in the North Sea, to provide a more complete heavylifting and port handling scope of work to the the renewables market.With many years of experienceā¦
MPI Pact with Eneco for Prinses Amaliawindpark
MPI Contractors B.V. has signed a contract with Eneco Windmolens Offshore B.V. to provide offshore transport and lifting services during main component replacements planned for wind turbines in the Prinses Amaliawindpark. This Agreement, which will take effect on 1 January 2018, is for a period of five years, with options to extend for a further three and two years. During this period, MPI will mobilise one of its wind turbine installation vessels (WTIVs) for two planned campaigns per year. Operations will involve the exchange of main components, such as gearbox, generator, transformer, blade and/or blade bearing. MPI competed in a European tender procedure that commenced in April this year. Award of this contract was based on the MPI submission scoring best on price and quality.
Sea Trucks Awarded Contract in Mexico
Sea Trucks Group has secured a charter for the Jascon 31 from Permaducto S.A. de C.V. (Protexa) for the provision of Accommodation and Heavy Lift services in the Gulf of Mexico. Sea Trucks will provide accommodation and lifting services in support of repair works at Pemex Line 221 at the Abkatun-A Platform in the Abkatun field in the Gulf of Mexico for a period of 50 days. After completion Sea Trucks will provide similar services at Pemex Lines 63a and 65 in the Ku-Maloob-Zaap Field for a period of 42 days plus options.
Fendercare Opens Expanded Great Yarmouth Base
On Friday, June 20, Fendercare Marine opened the doors of its Great Yarmouth base to showcase its expansion of lifting products and services over the last two years. The Fendercare Marine Equipment and Lifting Services Open Day was attended by an array of existing and new customers, as well as members of the local Great Yarmouth community. Guests could views displays of marine equipment products, lifting equipment, rope splicing demonstrations, working at height equipment and load monitoring.
Fendercare Wins Eastport U.K. Fendering Contract
Norfolk-based Fendercare Marine, a supplier of marine products and services, has secured a contract to supply Yokohama fenders to Eastport U.K. Norfolk port. The contract, won against international competition, is for the supply of 17 Yokohama pneumatic fenders measuring 2 x 3.5 m to be used at the Great Yarmouth port. Fendercare Marine is currently celebrating 25 years of trading, having built their reputation as a supplier of quality marine products ā in particular Yokohama fenders.
NBGI Private Equity: Acquisition of Cosalt Offshore
NBGI Private Equity, investor in Aberdeen-based ATR Group, is acquiring the Aberdeen and Norway operations of Cosalt Offshore. The deal, due to complete later today, will reportedly stabilie the Cosalt business which has been through a difficult period in recent years, safeguard jobs and provide funding to capitalize on international growth opportunities. ATR chief executive, Keith Moorhouse, will lead the enlarged group. He said, āThis deal will be welcomed by Cosaltās staff, customers and suppliers as an end to a period of uncertainty. Cosalt has an excellent technical and operational reputation and is an integral part of the supply chain of many of the energy sectorās leading oil service companies and operators.

A new joint venture between Saudi Arabiaās Shoaibi Group (SG) and the UAEās Gulf Marine Services (GMS) has been created to provide offshore barge operation services.
