Keppel Corp. appoints Tow Heng Tan as Director

Keppel Corporation Limited (Keppel Corporation) announced the appointment of Mr Tow Heng Tan, Managing Director of Strategic Development (ASEAN Investments) of Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited(Temasek Holdings), as Director. He will also serve as a member of the Executive Committee and Remuneration and Share Option Committee. Mr Tow, aged 48, has an extensive 29-year business career spanning the management consultancy, investment banking and stockbroking industries. At Temasek Holdings, he is involved with making direct investments in the ASEAN region. Prior to joining Temasek Holdings in September 2002, he was Senior Director of Business Development at DBS Vickers Securities (Singapore) Pte Ltd. From 1993 to 2001, Mr Tow was Managing Director of Lum Chang Securities Pte Ltd.

Keppel Opens Nantong Shipyard

Unveiling the sculpture, Soaring with the Can Do spirit, to commemorate the inauguration of Keppel Nantong Shipyard are Mr Luo Yi Min, Party Secretary of Communist Party of China (CPC) Nantong Committee and Mr Lim Chee Onn, Executive Chairman of Keppel Corporation. Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M) has officially opened its new wholly-owned subsidiary, Keppel Nantong Shipyard Co. Ltd (Keppel Nantong), in Nantong, Jiangsu province, China. Min, Party Secretary of Communist Party of China (CPC) Nantong Committee, graced the occasion as the Guest-of-Honour, joined by more than 300 guests. The ceremony was landmarked by the sale of two 45-tonne Azimuth Stern Drive tugboats to Kuwaiti owner, Arabian Gulf Mechanical Services & Contracting (AGMS).

Keppel FELS Delivers Rig to ENSCO

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) delivered ENSCO 107, a KFELS B Class design jackup drilling rig to ENSCO International Inc (ENSCO) one month ahead of contractual schedule and within budget. Guest-of-Honor, Mr. S. Dhanabalan, chairman of Temasek Holdings Pte Limited and Mr. Lim Chee Onn, executive chairman of Keppel Corporation Limited, were present to witness the christening ceremony, which came one day after Keppel FELS and ENSCO inked a new contract for the construction of a $338 million semisubmersible. The Lady Sponsor for ENSCO 107 was Mrs. Mieke Koenders, wife of Mr. Eisso Koenders, vice president of ENSCO Offshore International and unit manager for the Asia Pacific region.

Keppel Corporation Appoints Ang to Board

Keppel Corporation Ltd (KCL) is strengthening its Board further with the appointment of corporate lawyer Andrew Ang. "We are certain that we shall benefit immensely from his distinguished career and vast experience in the corporate world. The appointment of Ang underlines the commitment of the KCL Board to high standards of corporate governance," said KCL Executive Chairman, Lim Chee Onn. Ang is a Senior Partner and the Head of Banking and Corporate Department at Lee & Lee. As a lawyer in practice for 28 years, Ang is experienced in the areas of corporate finance, banking, mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation and taxation amongst others.

Keppel to Deliver Maersk Rig Early

Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M) will deliver a new generation semi-submersible rig to Maersk Contractors two weeks ahead of schedule in mid August 2003. The rig was named LIDER in a ceremony that was attended by more that 1,000 guests at Caspian Shipyard Company (CSC) in Baku, Azerbaijan. Mr Tage Bundgaard, President of Maersk Contractors, said, "We are proud of this new highly advanced rig. We fully expect LIDER to prove its state-of-the-art capabilities during the upcoming contract with Exxon Azerbaijan and other operators in the Caspain region. LIDER will be contracted to Exxon Azerbaijan Operating Company LLC and Chevron Overseas Petroleum Azerbaijan Limited for a three-year drilling program.

Keppel Elects New Executive Chair

Keppel Corp. Limited and Keppel TatLee Bank Limited have appointed Lim Chee Onn as executive chairman upon the retirement of Sim Kee Boon, effective January 1, 2000. Boon will continue to act as senior advisor to the Keppel Group. Onn, who holds a BSc in Naval Architecture from the University of Glasgow and a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University, has been senior executive director of Keppel Corp. since September 1983.

Sim Kee Boon Retires from Keppel

Keppel Corporation Limited (KCL) announced that Sim Kee Boon will retire from the position of Senior Advisor at the end of June. He was appointed Senior Advisor to the Keppel Group in January 2000, when Lim Chee Onn succeeded him as Executive Chairman of KCL. "The Board and Management of KCL truly appreciate Mr Sim's immense contribution and total dedication to the Keppel Group for the past 19 years. Keppel has grown and benefitted from his business acumen, network and experience. Currently Advisor to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) Board and the Lum Chang Group Simis also a Member of the Singapore Council of Presidential Advisors since 1997 and a Director of Temasek Holdings since January 2000.
