Effer Becomes Part of Hiab

Loader crane manufacturer Hiab, part of Cargotec, has completed the acquisition of  Effer loader cranes business from the CTE group.According to a press release from Hiab, the signing of the transaction was announced on 31 July 2018. For Hiab as the global leader in on-road load handling solutions, this acquisition means a significant advancement in its ambition to be leader in cranes and preferred partner for its customers.Effer, headquartered in Minerbio, Italy, and with approximately 400 employees, is a renowned premium knuckle-boom crane manufacturer. Effer's product range includes truck loader cranes, special application truck cranes, and marine cranes, with particular recognition for heavy cranes >100 tm capacity.

Scott Phillips Appointed Hiab President

Scott Phillips has been appointed President of Hiab crane manufacturing division of Cargotec group as of 1 October 2018. He will be a member of the Cargotec Executive Board and report to CEO Mika Vehviläinen. Scott Phillips joins Cargotec from General Electric where he holds the position of Vice President and CEO Mining. Prior to that, he has during his 28 years' career held various global leadership positions in the construction and mining industries, working for Sandvik and Caterpillar Inc., among others. "I warmly welcome Scott to Cargotec and Hiab. He has a proven track record of leading global, multi-billion euro technology businesses in various geographies.

CSSC Nanjing Luzhou, MacGregor Start Joint Venture

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, and China State Shipbuilding Corporation's (CSSC) Nanjing Luzhou Machine Co., Ltd. (LMC) celebrated the opening of a new joint venture in Nanjing, China on April 10. MacGregor, Maersk to Develop Container Securing Systems

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, and Maersk Line, part of the Maersk Group, have agreed to cooperate on the development of the next generation of container securing systems.   MacGregor, a provider of cargo and load handling solutions, and Maersk have had a cooperation within securing systems since the containership sizes started to grow from feeder sizes to the present ultra-large containerships.

Cargotec Appoints Svennevig as VP

Cargotec appoints Tom Svennevig Vice President for MacGregor advanced load-handling business. Cargotec has appointed Tom Svennevig as Vice President responsible for the company's advanced load-handling business line as of 24 October 2011. Mr Svennevig is experienced in the offshore business, and he joins Cargotec from Aker Pusnes in Norway where he was Vice President, Deck Machinery. Mr Svennevig is based in Kristiansand, Norway, where he also assumes the role of Managing Director of Cargotec Norway AS.

Moffett Engineering Limited, the Dundalk based manufacturer of Hiab Moffett truck-mounted forklifts and part of Cargotec Corporation has changed its name to Cargotec Ireland. Ezra Orders MacGregor Cargotec Cranes

MacGregor 150-tonne active heave compensated subsea crane

Cargotec will deliver two large offshore cranes to Singapore-based Ezra Marine Service Pte Ltd in 2010 and beginning of 2011 respectively. The cranes will be fitted to a deepwater anchor-handling towing/supply vessel (AHTS) and to a self-propelled accommodation barge. The value of the order is approximately $16.4m and it was booked in the first quarter 2010 order intake. The order comprises two large active heave-compensated subsea knuckle-jib cranes. The first is for an ultra-deepwater AHTS. This 150 tonne SWL crane has an under-deck mounted winch with a 3,000m wire.

Cargotec Acquires Offshore Service Company

Cargotec’s MacGREGOR business area providing marine cargo handling and offshore load handling solutions has signed an agreement to acquire US based Platform Crane Services International Inc (PCS). The sales of the company in 2007 were approximately USD 16 million and the company employs 105 persons. The transaction is subject to due diligence. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction value.

MacGREGOR Forms Offshore Division

The MacGREGOR Group recently unveiled details of its new offshore division, a division made possible by the recent acquisitions of Hydramarine in Norway and Plimsoll in Singapore. The Offshore division will comprise more than 660 employees: 160 in Norway and 500 in Asia. In 2006, Hydramarine and Plimsoll had a combined turnover of approximately €104 million and a order backlog of €175 million. Both Hydramarine and Plimsoll are financially consolidated into the MacGREGOR Group as of April 1, 2007. MacGregor Establishes Offshore Division

Cargotec’s MacGregor business area providing marine cargo handling solutions has established a new division, MacGregor Offshore. The acquired companies, Norwegian Hydramarine and Singaporean Plimsoll will be the foundation for the new division. The offshore division will be headed by Henrik Vildenfeldt who previously worked as SVP, Corporate Development at MacGregor. Vildenfeldt reports to Olli Isotalo, President of MacGREGOR. The new division employs approximately 700 people. Both Hydramarine and Plimsoll are included in MacGregor financials as of the beginning of April 2007. The new offshore division will focus on achieving targeted synergies from the combination of Hydramarine and Plimsoll and continue to build on future growth.

MacGREGOR Adds to Offshore Portfolio

MacGREGOR’s expansion into the offshore support sector continues with its latest acquisition, Vestnorsk Hydraulikkservice AS (VNH). The company is a service and turn-key system supplier to the offshore and marine industries, its main focus being offshore hydraulics service and products. VNH has a 1,100m² workshop suitable for service of hydraulic equipment in Ågotnes, west of Bergen, Norway. The company has net sales of €4.5 million and employs 21 people. Vestnorsk Hydraulikkservice AS is today owned by Vestnorsk Holding AS. VNH works fully in the offshore industry and carries out installation, troubleshooting and repairs on and off shore. About 80 per cent of its revenue comes from service, the rest from various hydraulic turn-key projects.

MacGREGOR Expands into Offshore by Acquiring Hydramarine

MacGREGOR has signed an agreement to acquire Hydramarine AS. Hydramarine is based in Norway and is a company in high-end offshore and subsea load handling systems for the offshore vessel industry. MacGREGOR will acquire 90 percent of the company with the remaining shares being owned by employees. The acquisition is subject to competition authority approval. Hydramarine focuses on the development of hydraulic and electrical deck machinery equipment for shipowners, yards and operators. Its key products are large active heave compensated cranes to the offshore industry. It offers a complete range of high-end handling systems such as cranes, davits, winches and subsea load handling solutions. Its products are installed on various kinds of offshore supply vessels and rigs.
