International Seaways Sells Stake in Al Shaheen Oil Field FSOs to Euronav

Oil tanker operator International Seaways has sold its 50% stake in two floating storage and offshore (FSO) vessels, the FSO Asia and FSO Africa, to its joint venture partner Euronav NV. The purchase price values the two FSO vessels at $300 million in total. Net of adjustments for working capital and expenses, International Seaways received approximately $140 million in cash from the sale.The transaction has been approved by North Oil Company (“NOC”), the operator of the Al Shaheen offshore oil field in Qatar, whose shareholders are Qatar Energy and Total E&P Golfe Limited.

International Seaways Refinances Six Tankers

New York-headquartered tanker shipping company International Seaways, Inc. on Tuesday announced it has signed agreements with Ocean Yield ASA (“Ocean Yield”) for the refinancing of six vessels in sale leaseback transactions.The bareboat charter-in lease agreements for the six modern scrubber-fitted very large crude carriers (VLCC) Seaways Tybee, Seaways Triton, Seaways Cape Henry, Seaways Hendricks, Seaways Liberty, and Seaways Diamond Head are for a period of 10 years with purchase obligations at expiry.The transactions are expected to fund in early November 2021 and result in financing of approximately $375 million, which will be used to replace the current $228 million Sinosure facility, with the balance intended for general corporate purposes.

International Seaways Completes Acquisition of Six Euronav VLCCs

US-based tanker shipping company International Seaways (INSW) has completed the acquisition of six 300,000 dwt very large crude carriers (VLCCs) from Euronav NV. The tanker company providing energy transportation services for crude oil, petroleum products and liquefied natural gas announced in a press release that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of six 300,000 DWT VLCCs for a purchase price of $434 million, inclusive of assumed debt, from Euronav. International Seaways Funds FSO Joint Ventures

International Seaways announced that its joint ventures with Euronav NV, which own the FSO Africa and FSO Asia floating storage and offloading service vessels, have closed on a $220 million credit facility. Based on INSW’s 50% ownership in the joint ventures, the Company has received $110 million in proceeds from the drawdown of the facility, which it expects to use for general corporate purposes, including to partially fund the previously announced VLCC acquisition. “With the $110 million term loan, International Seaways has further enhanced our financial flexibility while maintaining overall balance sheet strength,” said Lois K. International Seaways Acquires Six VLCCs

International Seaways has entered into a binding letter of intent to acquire the holding companies for six 300,000 DWT VLCCs with an average age of 1.7 years from Euronav NV in connection with the closing of Euronav’s announced acquisition of Gener8 Maritime, Inc. (GNRT). The purchase price for the six-vessel acquisition is $434 million, inclusive of assumed debt. International Seaways Acquires Two Suezmax Tankers

International Seaways announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire two Suezmax tanker newbuildings constructed at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries shipyard. The vessels are expected to deliver to the Company by the end of July 2017. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions. International Seaways intends to fund the vessel acquisitions from available liquidity. Following the delivery of these two vessels, International Seaways will have a total fleet of 57 vessels, including 51 conventional crude and product tankers in addition to its joint venture participation in four liquefied natural gas carriers and two floating storage and offloading service vessels. “We are pleased to add these two new Suezmax tankers to our sizeable and diverse fleet,” said Lois K.

Zabrocky to Headline WISTA

Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) USA announced that Lois K. Zabrocky of Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. (OSG) will be the keynote speaker at its 2nd Annual Luncheon in Stamford, CT. The luncheon is being held in conjunction with this year’s Connecticut Maritime Association (CMA) Shipping 2007 Conference. The luncheon will be held on Monday, March 19 at the Westin Stamford Hotel. Lois K. Zabrocky was appointed head of OSG’s International Product Carrier Strategic Business Unit in September 2005. In this role she oversees the company’s international product carrier business which includes Panamax and Handysize tankers that transport petroleum products.
