Interview: Ben Reed, Managing Director, HamiltonJet

Ben Reed is a mechanical engineer from the U.K. now leading New Zealand-based waterjet manufacturer HamiltonJet as managing director.Raised in Shropshire, Reed graduated from Loughborough University of Technology in 1995 and later became a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering. He’s worked for a U.K. gas utility company developing natural-gas-powered engines; Ford Motor Company as a Systems Analyst, and 17 years for Caterpillar UK in diesel engine and transmission development for off-highway machinery and military products…

Xodus Appoints Phil Cooper as New Director

The Scottish energy group Xodus Group has appointed Phil Cooper as a new corporate development director to support the continued growth of the company.The Aberdeen-based international energy consultancy said in a press release that Cooper has more than 35 years of experience and was most recently London general manager at Heerema Marine Contractors where he led a team of engineers engaged in heavy lift and subsea technical activities.Previously, he was the global technology director at INTECSEA and was responsible for defining and delivering its technology strategy.This new role will see Cooper strengthen the Xodus leadership team as the business enters a new phase of growth in the UK and beyond…

Braemar Adjusting continues its development and expansion with the recruitment of new personnel to its London-based loss adjusting team. Geoffrey Thomas, Braemar Adjusting Regional Managing Director, said, “We welcome Alan Tucker, Richard Collins and Patricia Castro to our team here in London. Alan Tucker holds a BSc. in Maritime Law/Insurance and Naval architecture and is currently part way through an MBA in Oil & Gas Management. Alan rejoined Braemar in July 2013 after living and consulting in Brazil, having previously worked for Braemar Adjusting (formerly Steege Kingston) from 2000 to 2004 when he spent much of his time working on cases in Europe and West Africa.
