Neumann Named CEO and President of Starboard

Beth G. Neumann has joined Starboard Cruise Services as CEO and President, reporting to Starboard Chairman, Ed Brennan. Owned by renowned world leader in luxury, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Starboard is the largest and leading onboard retailer in the cruise industry. In her leadership role, Neumann will oversee Starboard’s worldwide operations, which includes 1,800 employees, working both on land and on board the ships of the company’s eight partner cruise lines. Starboard’s sister company, Onboard Media, will also report to Neumann as part of her responsibilities.

Powered by ANSYS solutions to maximize yacht aerodynamics, 'Emirates Team New Zealand' has captured the Louis Vuitton Cup and won the right to compete in the 34th America's Cup. Faced with the challenge of making fast design improvements to its yacht to stay hyper-competitive, Emirates Team New Zealand used a 100 percent simulation-driven development process — eliminating the need for physical prototypes. Team engineers used ANSYS® computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solutions to virtually test different designs, considering up to 750 operating conditions per design.

Ms. Lim is based in Singapore and is responsible for all aspects of finance, controlling and accounting for vessels under management within the ship management and offshore management segments of the group. America’s Cup racing returns to the United States next month when the AC World Series brings nine of the top sailing crews in the world to Newport, R.I. The American team, ORACLE TEAM USA, currently leads the AC World Series by one point, so the final stop on the 2011-12 AC World Series circuit will determine the overall winner of the first-ever season. Cruise Ship Wins Interior Design Award

Crystal Serenity's $25 million redesign has not only received accolades from guests, travel agents and travel press since its debut last year, but from the design world as well. The ship's renovated Apropos boutique -- a retail space for designer clothing and accessories -- has won the prestigious Association for Retail Environments (A.R.E.) interior design "Crystal Award" for the shop's distinctive and dramatic aluminum interlocking circle screen. The design won the first-ever Wall Treatment Award in the new, Individual Element category for 2012.
