Faria Watchdog LRIT System on Iridium Sat

Faria WatchDog, Inc. announced that its WatchDog 750 long-range identification and tracking (LRIT) ship terminal has successfully completed the compliance and test requirements for operation on the Iridium satellite network. Faria WatchDog, Inc. is a supplier of satellite vessel monitoring systems (VMS). Iridium LRIT certification ensures its Value-Added Manufacturers’ (VAMs’) devices comply with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Resolution MSC.210(81) requirements, which establish performance standards for LRIT shipboard systems. With the Iridium certification, the WatchDog 750 is ready to provide a reliable LRIT solution to the maritime industry.

Fupe Systems Supports SkyWave LRIT

Fupe Systems AS, a provider of satellite, radio, data, GSM and software engineering solutions, announced its agreement to support the SkyWave Mobile Communication Inc. Long Range Identification Tracking (LRIT) solution. Fupe was selected as one of test ASPs for Norway by the Norwegian Maritime Directorate. Fupe is also the test ASP for the Flag of Barbados and Sierra Leone. As a test ASP, Fupe is responsible for initial testing of ship terminals to verify their compliance with International Maritime Organization’s LRIT specifications. “By supporting the DMR-800LRIT satellite terminal, Fupe is giving ship owners greater choice in their selection of LRIT compliant equipment” said John-Harry Edvardsen, Data and Telecom Manager at Fupe. LRIT regulations came into force on January 1, 2008.

SARS, Securewest LRIT Agreement

SARS Corp. (OTCBB: SARO.OTC), a provider of technologies dedicated to the satellite-based management of fixed and mobile assets, together with its marketing partner, Securewest International, Inc., a maritime security and emergency response company, announced its agreement to integrate the SkyWave Mobile Communication Inc.
