Chevron Marine Lubricants Expands in Africa

Chevron Marine Lubricants announced a plan to boost its presence in African ports, extending its joint venture with Akwa Group. Chevron is now an equal partner in Afriquia Lubrifiants, with plans to extend the blending, distribution, and marketing business beyond Morocco to markets in sub-Saharan Africa.The agreement enables theJV to manufacture Chevron’s premium products locally for the first time, including Chevron Marine Lubricants’ product portfolio. Cepsa, GP Global to Produce Marine Lubricants in India

Cepsa and Global Energy Private Limited (GPGEPL), part of UAE-based global conglomerate GP Global, have announced an exclusive partnership to manufacture and market Cepsa branded marine and power generation lubricants in India.As per the agreement, GP Global will manufacture, package and even import Cepsa branded lubricant products in India.“India is a huge market for port modernization and coastal shipping development. Major initiatives have been taken in this direction by our government. International Maritime Organization (IMO) fuel rules entering force in 2020 mandate a drastic sulfur reduction. By 2050 the mandate is to cut greenhouse gas emissions of shipping by at least 50 percent.Marine fuels, lubricants and additives manufacturers play their part in establishing maritime’s green credentials by introducing new environmentally acceptable technologies and products.The shipping industry is more than ever portrayed in a bad light due to increasing awareness of its contribution to global climate change, according to Dirk Kronmeijer, CEO of GoodFuels Marine.

Klüber Obtains Certification for Manufacturing Facilities

Klϋber Lubrication has received the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) ISO 21469 certification at its Londonderry, New Hampshire facility. The certification from the NSF ensures food-grade lubricants from Klüber Lubrication are manufactured in a hygienic environment, using both best practices and the safest ingredients. Klüber Lubrication leads the industry with five global locations that are NSF ISO 21469 certified. ISO 21469 specifies hygiene requirements for the formulation, manufacture, use and handling of lubricants which, during manufacture and processing, can come into incidental contact with products and packaging used in the food, food processing, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, tobacco and animal‐feeding‐stuffs industries.

BP Marine to Migrate Marine Lubricant to Castrol

Consolidation will provide marine customers with a simpler and more consistent product offering. Global lubricants manufacturer, Castrol, has announced that it will become the sole brand for the BP group’s marine lubricant offering. The decision to consolidate the marine lubricants offerings that are currently provided under both BP Marine and Castrol Marine brands will create a single product and service portfolio that will provide greater simplicity and efficiency for customers.

Marine Lubricant Suppliers in Global Supply Link-up

Aegean Marine Petroleum Network and SK Lubricants sign an agreement that will allow Aegean to increase its sales volumes in the marine lubricants market and SK Lubricants to extend its global sales network. Under the global cooperation agreement between the companies, Aegean will supply and deliver marine lubricant products to customers of SK Lubricants in the Aegean lubricants network, which currently covers 45 countries and 550 ports worldwide, and SK Lubricants will provide Aegean's customers in South Korea with marine lubricant products. E. Nikolas Tavlarios, President, commented, "Our agreement with SK Lubricants will allow Aegean to expand sales volumes for our marine lubricants and further extend our presence in the Asian market.

GAC Bunker Fuels Expands in Norway

GAC Bunker Fuels Limited has announced the opening of its newest office - in Bergen, Norway - in a move to further strengthen its marine fuel and lubricant trading operation across the Nordic region. The Bergen office will be responsible for the trading of all grades of marine fuel and gas oil, as well as the full range of lubricant products, for domestic and international customers operating across Nordic waters and beyond. It will also co-ordinate customers' ship agency requirements. OW Bunker Secures Exclusive Contract

OW Bunker, one of the largest suppliers and traders of marine fuel and lubricants, has announced that it has been awarded a contract by Shell Brazil to supply marine lubricants to domestic customers. OW Bunker Brazil is now responsible for the sale, supply and distribution of Shell's full range of marine lubricants in the South, Southeast and Northeast (not including Maranhão State) regions of Brazil. Flavio Ribeiro, Managing Director, OW Bunker Brazil, commented:  “This is a significant contract for OW Bunker Brazil, and highlights the strength of our operations in the region, as well as the development of our global lubricants offering.
