New EAL Grease for ATB Couplings
Specialty lubricants manufacturer KlĎ‹ber Lubrication recently introduced a new environmentally acceptable lubricant (EAL) grease for articulated tug and barge (ATB) couplings, Klüberbio AM 12-501.Klüberbio AM 12-501 is an adhesive EAL grease designed specifically for the large plain bearings, rams and connectors used in ATB coupling systems. It is based on fully synthetic ester oils for high performance and biodegradability, aluminum complex thickener for adhesion and resistance to water and select additives to reduce wear.Klüberbio AM 12-501 meets ATB coupling system OEM specifications for pumpability, resistance to water washout and spray off, corrosion protection and load carrying capabilities.
Lubricants Manufacturer Exol Eyes Maritime Markets
A new worldwide distributor deal signed between Yorkshire-based maritime diesel engine specialist Maktec Marine and Midlands headquartered lubricant giant Exol aims to catapult the U.K. lubricants manufacturer into the maritime industry. “Exol is a sleeping giant in the maritime sector,” said Mark Cornforth, owner of Maktec, a brand with 20 years of maritime industry experience. “Exol is flourishing in the industrial, automotive, agriculture and transport sectors but wants to ramp up activity in the shipping industry, which is Maktec’s specialist area.
Klüber Offers More than 70 PFPE Oils and Greases
Specialty lubricants manufacturer Klüber Lubrication informs it now offers more than 70 perfluorinated polyether (PFPE) oils and greases products under the BARRIERTA, Klüberalfa, and Klübertemp brand names. Known for their stable, nonflammable and non-reactive properties, PFPE oils and greases provide excellent high-temperature performance for many industries, including: marine, automotive, aerospace, electronics, chemicals, textiles, plastics and food and beverage. The thermal stability of these lubricants withstand operating temperatures up to 572 degrees F (300 degrees C).
BP Marine to Migrate Marine Lubricant to Castrol
Consolidation will provide marine customers with a simpler and more consistent product offering. Global lubricants manufacturer, Castrol, has announced that it will become the sole brand for the BP group’s marine lubricant offering. The decision to consolidate the marine lubricants offerings that are currently provided under both BP Marine and Castrol Marine brands will create a single product and service portfolio that will provide greater simplicity and efficiency for customers.
