Key People Changes in Aegean Marine Petroleum Network

International marine fuel logistics company Aegean Marine Petroleum Network (AMPNI) announced that President Jonathan McIlroy will leave the Company, effective November 15, 2018.The marine fuel and lubricants  supplier announced last month  the appointment of Kostas Polydakis to the position of Chief Operating Officer, as well as his qualifications and experience.Polydakis is serving on the Company’s Management Committee, along with the Company’s Chief Financial Officer, and the Company’s Global Director of Supply and Trading. Robert Joore, the new General Manager of marine lubricants supplier Total Lubmarine, has laid out his vision for the company, focusing on developing a range of innovative solutions for ship operators operating in poor freight markets in a low-sulphur era. Total Lubmarine Launches Talusia Optima

Lubricants supplier Total Lubmarine has launched Talusia Optima, a new cylinder lube oil compatible with high sulphur heavy fuel oils and ultra-low sulphur distillate fuels. According to the manufacturer, the new lube has been developed to simplify the management of vessels trading globally in and out of Emission Control Areas (ECAs), and offers the potential to reduce lube consumption and help extend engine life. Talusia Optima is suitable for use with fuels ranging in sulphur content of between 0 and 3.5 percent. Talusia Optima has received a no objection letter from major OEM Winterthur Gas & Diesel (WinGD) for the use of the product across its two-stroke engine ranges.

Total Talusia Optima Receives Approval From Win GD

Lubricants supplier Total Lubmarine has received a no objection letter from Winterthur Gas & Diesel (WinGD) for the use of its cylinder lubricant Talusia Optima with the whole range of Wärtsilä engines. Talusia Optima is a new cylinder lube oil (CLO) suitable for use with fuels ranging in sulphur content from 0-3.5 percent. The product is currently being tested on a range of ships and is expected to be brought to market later in 2016. Talusia Optima completed over 4,300 hours of validation tests on-board a mega boxship deployed on Asia-Europe liner routes.

LUKOIL Marine Lubricants Opens Gothenburg Warehouse

LUKOIL Marine Lubricants informs it has opened a new warehouse in Gothenburg.   The marine lubricants supplier said it constantly strives to expand its global supply network, adding that the new site will enable reduced lead time and increased flexibility when delivering lubricants to vessels calling at Scandinavian ports.   LUKOIL Marine serves the Scandinavian market from its order department in Hamburg. The company said it has further improved availability of its full product range in the region via cooperation with new logistics partner for Scandinavia, TJOSAB AB.

OW Bunker Acquire Bergen Bunkers

OW Bunker to acquire the entire share capital of marine fuels & lubricants supplier Bergen Bunkers AS. Bergen Bunkers has offices in Bergen and St Petersburg, and provides fuel and lubricants to some of Norway's leading ship owners and operators, as well as global customers. Bergen Bunkers employs 12 staff, and will retain its existing brand name, operating as an integrated and wholly owned subsidiary of OW Bunker. Lubmarine Biodegradable Range for Shipping

International marine lubricants supplier Total Lubmarine has developed a range of biodegradable products which will enable companies in the shipping industry to improve their environmental footprint without compromising performance or safety. Total Lubmarine is now offers: Carter Bio, a high-gear performance lubricant; Biohydran TMP, a hydraulic lubricant; and Biomultis SEP 2, an extreme-pressure multipurpose grease. Lubmarine Extends Delivery Network to Cyprus

Marine lubricants supplier Total Lubmarine has extended its delivery network to include Cyprus. Lubmarine has signed an agreement with Navilub Limited whereby Navilub will blend and deliver throughout Cyprus the main products in Lubmarine's range of marine lubricants, including its industry-leading Talusia HR 70 cylinder oil, Atlanta Marine system oil and the Aurelia XL and Disola ranges of trunk piston-engine oils for engines running respectively on heavy fuel oil or marine distillates. Products will be available in all major Cyprus ports, including Limassol, Larnaka, Vasiliko and Dhekelia. A barge facility is available for delivering Lubmarine's main grades via the 400 dwt Knight Star.

Lubmarine Outlines Position in Supply Crisis

Marine lubricants supplier TOTAL Lubmarine has outlined its position concerning increasing raw material costs and growing shortages of marine lubricants. Andrew Knox, Head of Marketing at TOTAL Lubmarine, says, "Recent events have shown how tight the worldwide situation is. This is due to a long historical period of low and decreasing margins which have discouraged the industry from investing. "With the 2004 and 2005 increases in crude oil and lubricant raw material market prices, industry profitability has worsened, and the incredible acceleration in cost increases in recent months puts the industry in an unprecedented position of vulnerability. Since July, base oil price costs have increased by between 24 and 35 percent.
