Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd.'s (Keppel O&M) subsidiaries Keppel Shipyard Ltd., Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd. and Keppel Nantong Shipyard Co. Ltd. have secured contracts worth a total of about S$140 million. Michael Chia, Managing Director (Marine & Technology) of Keppel O&M, said, "We are happy to be able to offer our comprehensive suite of offshore and marine solutions to our valued repeat customers, who are once again placing their confidence in Keppel by entrusting their projects with us. Keppel Shipyard will undertake for SOFEC, Inc. (SOFEC) the fabrication of an external turret mooring system for an FPSO vessel that will operate in the Tweneboa-Enyenra-Ntomme fields in Ghana, in water depth averaging 1,500 meters. Fabrication of the turret is expected to be completed in 1Q 2015.

Keppel and ConocoPhillips to design first ice-worthy jackup rig for the Arctic Offshore. Joint project will yield breakthroughs in offshore Arctic drilling. Keppel Offshore & Marine Technology Centre (KOMtech), a design and engineering arm of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M), and ConocoPhillips are jointly designing a first-of-its-kind ice-worthy jackup rig to operate in one of the harshest marine frontiers, the Arctic Seas. This jackup rig will have dual cantilevers to optimise drilling operations within a limited time window. The rig is capable of operating in a self-sustained manner for 14 days and is equipped with a hull that is designed for towing in ice.

Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine) has delivered a Multi-purpose Duty Rescue Vessel on schedule to LUKOIL-Kaliningradmorneft (LUKOIL). Jointly designed by Marine Technology Development (MTD), the ship design and development arm of Keppel O&M, and its consultants, Robert Allan, Kogalym is the fifth vessel Keppel Singmarine has delivered to LUKOIL since 2003. Named after a key production region for LUKOIL in western Siberia, Kogalym was christened by Mrs. Olga Kessler, Environmental Engineer (Labour Safety) of LUKOIL at Keppel Singmarine.

Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine) has completed Asia’s first two icebreakers, built for one of the harshest marine frontiers on Earth, the Arctic sea for client, LUKOIL-Kaliningradmorneft (LUKOIL). Mr Charles Foo, Chairman of Keppel Singmarine, said “This is the first time that icebreakers meant for the Arctic region have been built in the tropics. The second vessel was named Varandey by Mrs Lyudmila Velikova, wife of Mr Victor Velikov, Deputy General-Director of LUKOIL at a Russian-themed ceremony at Marina at Keppel Bay today.

Keppel Singmarine Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) has secured orders for three offshore support vessels (OSVs) and two tugboats for about $80 million. The vessels will be progressively delivered to their owners up to end 2006. Keppel Singmarine will build one ice-class OSV for anchor handling and supply purposes for new customer, the Russian oil company Lukoil Kaliningradmorneft (LUKOIL). When completed at end 2006, the vessel will be deployed in the Caspian Sea region. The other two OSVs are for repeat customer Groupe Bourbon (Bourbon). With these two 100-tonne bollard pull anchor handling tugs, Keppel Singmarine’s orders from Bourbon will add up to a total of seven vessels.

Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), won four contracts worth $230 m to build six offshore support vessels (OSV) and a derrick pipelay vessel. Delivery dates for these vessels are expected between the second half of 2009 and the first half of 2010. This is the first time that Keppel Singmarine is building a derrick pipelay vessel, and for a new customer, Global Offshore International Ltd (Global Offshore). Mr Hoe Eng Hock, Executive Director of Keppel Singmarine, said, “Derrick pipelay vessels are highly specialised ships that have to be tailor-made to owners’ requirements.

Keppel Singmarine has clinched contracts worth a total of $164.3m for two vessels from LUKOIL – Kaliningradmorneft (LUKOIL), a subsidiary of Russian oil company, LUKOIL Oil Company. The parent company of Keppel Singmarine, Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has also signed an agreement with LUKOIL for further co-operation in potential newbuilding of offshore rigs, special purpose offshore facilities and vessels to service LUKOIL's offshore oil terminal vessels at Keppel O&M shipyards around the world. The vessels will be delivered to their owner between end 2007 and mid 2008.
