Changes to Volvo Penta Executive Group Announced

Ron Huibers, President Volvo Penta Americas

After 26 years with Volvo and 7 as President of Volvo Penta Americas, Ron Huibers has decided to retire from his current role and move to another role within Volvo Penta. Succeeding Ron will be Martin Bjuve, currently CFO and SVP Business Office Volvo Penta. Planned transition date will be January 1, 2020. Bjorn Ingemanson, President and CEO Volvo Penta, today announced that Ron Huibers, President Volvo Penta Americas, has decided to retire from his current role and take up a new role within the company. Mack Powers Into Maritime Market

In the era of consolidation on the maritime diesel engine market, it is refreshing to report news of a new competitor. Mack Trucks - well known and regarded for the quality, durability and life-cycle performance of its products in land based markets - has created a new business unit, MackPower, dedicated to manufacturing, marketing and servicing a lineup of mack diesel engines for a variety of uses, including marine applications. "There is a lot of potential in the marine (pleasure craft and commercial) market," said Carrie-Ann Baker, manager, sales and marketing. The unit's initial entrant is the Mack E7 mechanical design engine, and the popular Mack E7 E-Tech engine, which is a six-cylinder, 12-liter model featuring an electronic pump-in-line injection system.

Mack Trucks will market its premier 12-liter diesel engine, the E7, as a power source for various industrial and marine market applications. The company's newest business unit, Mack Power, supports the marketing, sales, engineering, service and parts operations for E7's strategic move into several new market segments. An electronically managed engine, E7 will be available for the major industrial market segments of agricultural, construction, general industrial, material handling, pumps and compressors, and generator sets. Regarding the commercial and pleasure market marine segment, E7 will be offered in both E-Tech and mechanical models.
