APM Terminals Pushes Solar Energy in India

Indian Port Rail Corporation to Begin New Railway Line Project

Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT), Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Railways and state governments of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra will enter into a pact tomorrow for implementing a new Indore- Manmad Railway Line Project.The project will be implemented through Indian Port Rail Corporation Limited on joint venture special purpose vehicle (SPV) model."An MoU will be signed tomorrow between JNPT- Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Railways, Govt of Maharashtra and Govt of Madhya Pradesh for implementation of 362 km Indore- Manmad New Railway Line Project," the shipping ministry said in a statement.The project will reduce the distance from Mumbai/Pune to key central India locations by 171 kilometers.The project passes through the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor nodes Igatpuri…

Adani Hazira Port Handles Record Rock Phosphate

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) today said its Hazira port had recently handled a record quantity of rock phosphate of 188,684 metric tonnes, highest amongst any commercial port in single calendar month. With this feat, Adani Hazira Port surpassed Kandla Port’s all time best of handling the similar cargo of 182,748 metric tonnes in June 2012. With this, Adani Hazira port has established a unique position in the handling of rock phosphate on the west coast of India. Rock Phosphate is the key raw material for manufacturing of Phosphoric acid, and Single Super Phosphate fertilizer. This milestone has been achieved due to sustained patronage of the SSP manufacturers and persistence support of the suppliers and traders of rock phosphate and the transporter fraternity.

Adani's Commission Tuna Tekra Bulk Terminal at Kandla

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India’s largest port developer and part of Adani Group, a global integrated player, today said it had commissioned a bulk terminal at Tuna Tekra, Kanda Port, with an annual handling capacity of over 20 million tonnes, further consolidating its leadership one position on the west coast of India. Nitin Gadkari, the Honourable Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways inaugurated the terminal after the berthing of the project’s first vessel MV Sheng Ming earlier in the day. “The Tuna Tekra terminal is yet another feather in the Adani cap. We expect the terminal to be a game-changer for Export Import trade of the Northwest hinterland of India, thanks to its strategic location.

ABB Commissions World Highest Capacity Circuit Breaker

ABB has designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned a 1,200-kilovolt (kV) circuit breaker the highest AC voltage level in the world. Once the 1200 kV ultrahigh-voltage switchgear is fully operational, it will have a switching capacity of 10,400 megawatts -  a switch capable of turning ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’ the electricity generated by 10 large power plants or the combined average annual electrical load of Switzerland and Denmark, within milliseconds. The circuit breaker is deployed at the 1,200 kV national test station constructed by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), India’s central transmission utility, at Bina in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Adani Ports to Commission Tuna Tekra Terminal by Dec 2014

Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd, India’s largest port developer and part of Adani Group, will commission its dry bulk cargo handling terminal at Tuna Tekra in a record time by December 2014. The group shared this development with prospective clients during a trade meeting, last week. The meet, organized by Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd to make this announcement and showcase the salient features of the project, received unprecedented response, and was attended by more than 60-65 representatives from almost every major shipping agencies/lines as well as custom house agents operating in the region. Attendees were given a detailed presentation on the upcoming facility and were also taken on a guided tour of the terminal.
