A.P. Møller Holding A/S has acquired offshore vessel services firm Maersk Supply Service A/S from A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S, through the closing of the previously announced transaction.In connection with the closing of this acquisition, A.P. Moller Holding has elected a new CEO and Board of Directors for Maersk Supply Service A/S. Christian M. Ingerslev will take over the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position from Steen S. Karstensen, who has been at the helm of Maersk Supply Service since 2016.

WTIVs have always been fuel-hungry. Now they are being tasked with installations that are further, deeper and heavier.Offshore wind farms continue their march into deeper water, further from shore, with turbines that can now reach more than 270 meters high with blades 120 meters long. Designers and OEMs are pushing efficiency to new levels to contain OPEX on the new-generation jack-up WTIVs taking them up there.Danish ship design firm Knud E. Hansen has chosen specialization for its Atlas A-class WTIV, a smaller derivation of its massive C-class design.

Maersk Supply Service and GustoMSC to Design Innovative Wind Installation Vessel for European Waters

Danish offshore vessel operator Maersk Supply Service has entered a collaboration with the Dutch vessel designer GustoMSC to design the "next generation" Wind Installation Vessel. Maersk Supply Service, which is already building an offshore wind installation vessel for the U.S. market, said Tuesday the aim of the latest collaboration with GustoMSC was to create an "upgraded version that is fit for purpose for the growing offshore wind market in Europe." "The new design will build on the same patent and characteristics of the current feeder concept, which was designed to operate in US waters.

Emission Reduction: Maersk Supply Service to Use Biofuel Across Offshore Vessel Fleet

Danish offshore vessel owner Maersk Supply Service has introduced a new product ECO Offshore that it says could help its customers reduce carbon emissions from offshore operations.According to Maersk Supply Service, the company has recently successfully trialed a blend of low-carbon biofuel with marine gas oil aboard its vessels. The Danish company says that ECO Offshore uses Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), a safe, sustainable biofuel that replaces conventional fossil fuels without causing harm or depletion to food sources and provides the same performance as conventional fuels.

Shell Hires Maersk Supply Service to Fix FPSO Mooring Lines in Brazil

Danish offshore vessel owner, Maersk Supply Service has won a contract with Shell in Brazil for the mooring line remediation of the FPSO Fluminense, located off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.The scope of the project includes remediation work on two of the Fluminense FPSO's mooring lines."With the onshore engineering already well underway, offshore operations are due to run for three weeks from late August 2022," Maersk Supply Service said. Maersk Wins Second U.S. Contract for Its Wind Turbine Installation Vessel

Danish offshore services company Maersk Supply Service has won its second offshore wind installation contract in the U.S. The company, best known for its offshore support vessels, in March ordered a wind turbine installation vessel, and won its first contract with Equinor and BP to install turbines at the Empire Wind project in the U.S.Now, Maersk Supply Service has won a deal to install the wind turbines at the Beacon Wind farm off the U.S. East Coast, also for a joint venture between Equinor and BP. The installation of Beacon Wind is expected to start in 2028.

Danish offshore vessel owner Maersk Supply Service said Wednesday it had won a long-term contract with ExxonMobil in Angola.The contract is for the provision of project management, engineering, and marine services in support of the development of offshore drilling and production operations offshore Angola in the Block 15.Maersk Supply Service subsea support vessel Maersk Forza will perform the offshore marine operations, including offshore field maintenance support, deep-water AHC precision lifting, and ROV operations for the installation of subsea and other marine equipment.
